billvon 3,120 #1 October 28, 2002 Just curious. I'm trying to figure out whether to go up Thurs or Fri night. Also, anyone doing the state or tandem record attempts?

skybytch 273 #3 October 28, 2002 I haven't decided... depends on if my wallet recovers from last weekend in time. If I go, it'll be to fun jump a little and gamble a lot - I've already gotten enough records this year
billvon 3,120 #4 October 28, 2002 >If I go, it'll be to fun jump a little and gamble a lot - I've already > gotten enough records this year. Methinks skydiving will be cheaper, and you won't have to sit next to chain smoking 70 year old ladies.
christoofar 0 #5 October 28, 2002 I'll prolly tag along wherever JT drags my happy ass. Hopefully the 182 jumping will be at a minimum. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

Which dz will you be jumping at? the little airfield with that dodgy "alfalfa" stuff growing in the landing area which comes up tour waist? Awesome views of the rockies. have fun. Where you staying, Harrahs? Dont forget Losers Lounge.
Danl 0 #7 October 28, 2002 I'm going, driving from So Cal Friday afternoon/evening. Anyone want to ride along and save gas/expenses? (I can pay for the gas, just looking for company on a long ride.) Dan'l

YahooLV 0 #11 October 29, 2002 Methinks skydiving will be cheaper, and you won't have to sit next to chain smoking 70 year old ladies. But why deprive yourself of Homer's sister-in-laws' company? keskeie 0 #12 October 29, 2002 I'm counting the days.....and hitching a ride on the plane leaving Thursday afternoon. As to the record attempts, I've got to wait to be formally asked.....but I'm crossing my fingers and jumping my butt off with Walt.We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald

keskeie 0 #15 October 29, 2002 Hey, I posted something on here once before. I think. Some of us don't get to sit on the net all day. You're on here all the time - where do you find it? keskeie 0 #16 October 29, 2002 Actually, I just saw some of the boobie picks on the other thread. And my boobies keep me happy enough. But thanks for the offer. quade 4 #20 October 29, 2002 Well, I'd never seen one of your posts before today. I really -don't- spend nearly as much time on this thing as most people assume. I just type fast between phone calls. Anyway, you're a "newbie" here until 50 posts, but don't sweat it 'cause it's meaningless anyway. You might be a newbie in skydiving until a number of things happen, but you're certainly on your way to completely shedding your newbieness. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
skycat 0 #21 October 29, 2002 We were going to go, then saw the no hook turns thing, and doubted that they would beleive that canopies really can fly as fast as the 60 so decided to go to Eloy instead. Just kidding, we opted to go to Eloy for X-mas rather than NV. Fly it like you stole it!
keskeie 0 #22 October 29, 2002 So is there some list you can give me to check off on how to finish my newbieness? :) How 'bout making the tandem jump record with Paco and Walt? Or maybe I shouldn't ask, because I know the non-jumping things some will say....and of course, I'm totally off subject now, but what the heck, this post isn't on fire, anyways, right? Anyways, how was Perris for you this weekend? We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
quade 4 #23 October 29, 2002 Quote So is there some list you can give me to check off on how to finish my newbieness? :) Basically figure the rookie year. You're in the sport now for what, 6-9 months maybe? As for the tandem record -- not really my place to say but, well, that may be pushing the envelope a bit. You sure as heck don't want to be on that sort of load before you're ready. What's the largest formation you've done so far? Anyway, Walt will decide if you're ready. BTW, Perris last weekend for me was a bit on the weak side. Saturday, work, Bob's memorial service and then back to work. Sunday, work, but still got out to do 2 jumps. So, kinda light on the jumping. NEXT weekend will rock pretty hard. Come on out to the Flyboyz Film Festival and watch the fun -- you'll also be shedding just a tad more of your newbieness by doing so. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
keskeie 0 #24 October 29, 2002 5 months and 4 days! ;) And 102 jumps. Not that I'm racing anyone but myself.....to keep getting better. The tandem record might be a pipe dream for me. I did do the 38 way practice with Walt and Paco and Coral a week ago.... And your Perris last weekend was better than mine, you got 2 more jumps than me! I was doing the wedding thing up in Visalia. I will definitely be there next weekend. I think it'll be my longest between jumps since I've started..... You sure as heck don't want to > be on that sort of load before you're ready. What's the largest > formation you've done so far? Anyway, Walt will decide if you're > ready. Agreed. It wasn't so long ago that you needed an AFF rating to jump with a vector tandem, and for good reason - it takes that kind of experience to absolutely, positively guarantee you won't ever be above or below a tandem, on exit or in freefall. You're essentially flying with someone who is going to deploy on exit and have a permanent PC-in-tow throughout the dive. A 60-way alone is a challenge to pull off safely. A 60-way with a tandem in the center is at least twice as challenging. I hope Walt chooses the people for that dive with that in mind.
