christoofar 0 #1 October 30, 2002 Damn tow truck operators! I was in Austin last Friday night. I got ran off the entrance to Ben White and I-35 and got stuck in mud+tar by some b**** in a minivan who almost sideswiped me to get in the turnaround lane. Called USAA and reported the incident, and the tow truck service they sent to bail out the car made a bad problem worse by attaching the wench to the wrong points on the car! Just picked up my mud filled car today from the garage. New front side suspension, new passenger side wheel. $1,100 for damages and $250 rental car, plus I didn't have time (or felt like) to clean all the mud out of the car from when I had to get out of the rain... so another $45 went to a carwash + detail job. My baby is hurt, but she will heal. My poor kitten. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

goose491 0 #5 October 30, 2002 Brutal bud. Just goes to show you how incompetence sucks... And it strikes everyDAY! So beware. Sorry to hear about your kitten. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
jfields 0 #6 October 30, 2002 It sucks indeed. Sometimes shit just isn't right or fair. Every once in awhile, we all end up on the bad side of things. Knowing that it is both inevitable and shared doesn't make it any more fun though... Hope things get better for you.
christoofar 0 #7 October 30, 2002 Thanks J! I was actually pretty cool when I got run off the road. I am a very mellow guy. I didn't vent until after I hanged up the phone with the garage and I made sure no one else was around to hear my primal ape screams. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! flyhi 24 #8 October 30, 2002 Tough break. I feel for you. Remember the time I got run off the road by a minivan while I was riding a bicycle. The only thing I saw was a MADD bumper sticker as the lady drove away. Never stopped. I think USAA has a rental car option for their policies that doesn't add that much ($15 - $25/6 months?) and covers the rental car in case of a mishap. Might want to consider that. Or not.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I coud be wrong too but, if I am I need to buy beer. hahah The rent a car was paid for, but I had to send them the charge from Enterprise because their stupid referral system was down and they couldn't make a rental car assingnment over the phone. I worked 6 years @ USAA. In the interests of not having my ass sued I will say nothing about their internal systems. All I can say though legally is: You get what you pay for. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle. christoofar 0 #13 October 31, 2002 I did drive my kitten back home from work today and she seems to be aligned fine. But now it's time to scrap the stock tires and put 4 new Pirellis on! ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.
