AirTime 0 #1 October 30, 2002 I've seen a couple of posts that look like they are written in Russian or trying the best they can with out the Cyrillic alphabet. I'm curious. Do we have many Russians here at dz.com or from the old Soviet Republic? The Paranoids are after me! The Paranoids are after me!

Do we have many Russians here at dz.com or from the old Soviet Republic? I was born in the Republic of Georgia while it was still part of the former USSR. I left just a few months before USSR broke up. I grew up only speaking Russian. After spending sometime on other European countries (Austria and Italy), I ended up in Texas about 12 years ago. I learned to speak English. If you meet me in person you will never know that English is my second language. Best way to do it is to take classes at college, or find a private teacher. I would suggest surrounding yourself with Russian speaking individuals. Watch Russian TV. Go to Russian websites such as www.gazeta.ru7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer

jraf 0 #14 October 30, 2002 Russian literature is very rich. Bulkhakov is just brilliant. The way it is written, you need to understand that it was in Jo Stalin's times. So there are certain subtelties referring to the NKVD and so on. Start reading today!jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

ernokaikkonen 0 #19 October 30, 2002 I've read the Finnish translation "Mestari ja Margareta" a few years ago. It is a great book. Maybe I should read it again. >I would kill for a copy of Bukhakov's "Mastier i Margharita" in Russian. I'm sure there is no need to resort to such drastic measures...
