Iflyme 0 #1 November 1, 2002 I guess now that the "Sniper" is behind bars, people living around Washington D-C don't have to worry anymore about being shot and killed by a crazed gunman on a murder spree! Now they just have to worry about being shot and killed by a family member, a friend, maybe a co-worker...

happythoughts 0 #3 November 1, 2002 QuoteLock one up, they'll be another to replace him. In Florida, we discovered that if you keep them locked up, that doesn't happen. 80% crime caused by 10% of the criminals. The habituals not only continue in crime, but involve others. Keep them out of circulation for a while, thing got quieter.

Ray Didn't say perfect, I said quieter. However, I do have a theory and I would seriously like your opinion on it. Two causes of crime. I have been up north during the winter and it was unbearably cold. You can't live outside. You must be employed at a level that provides you with shelter in almost all cases (yeah, I know about homeless shelters). In Fla, you can live under an overpass in the winter and bum money on the exit ramps from idiots. This is the theory - it is easier to be dysfunctional here. Hence, serial killers, etc. Second - historically, Fl has been a smuggling mecca. Lots of coastline and coves. Admittedly, it's an industry. What do you think? Florida definitely is a magnet for homeless people. But I have been to places like New York and Chicago and there wasnt a small amount there either. But Florida is definitely a lot better place to sleep outside. There has been a large amount of serial killer's in Florida, but I dont think this is attributed to homeless people. Ted Bundy, one of Florida's most notorious killer's was a well respected member of his comunity. I did agree with the 80/10 rule, the crime rate in florida has decreased signifigantly in the past years, since they started keeping the criminals behind bars longer. The 10-20-life rule is working aparently. And yes Florida has a sad history of Drug smuggling, Heck most of the Dropzone's in Florida got their start by flying their plane's all night, and jumper's all day. (That is a different story). But that has changed a lot. Contrary to my previous reply we do have a nicer, safer place to live and visit. There still is work to be done though, a boat with 100 people managed to pull right up to our shore's from Haiti, just the other day. That could easily have been a boat full of Drug's, Nerve gas, or Terrorist's with Nuke's. But once again thats another story. Ray Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! happythoughts 0 #7 November 1, 2002 I think Bundy was on the run when he got here, but he also killed people in Utah, Calif, and Wash. state before he got here. He just went over the edge and got caught in Fl. If he had kept his MO, he might be somewhere else by now. It is drug smuggling because that makes money. Before that, it was liquor. Whatever is illegal and makes money. I am hoping with you that someone doesn't make a bale of cash smuggling big weapons.
