WFFC 1 #2 November 4, 2002 Quote Hmmm.. driving to work may never be the same again Yep...I think we'd be too tempted to get out on the way to work... I can see the phone call now... You: Boss, I won't be in today. Boss: What's going on now? You: I fell out of the car again...----- ~~~Michael
riddler 0 #3 November 4, 2002 Parking may not be either. I wonder if I can put a garage door on the roof of my garage?Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
goose491 0 #4 November 4, 2002 They've been working on that thing for YEARS now! I remember them talking about how they were testing the first 'working' prototype and the pic in the article was the same as the one in this article... Makes you wonder... Pretty nifty looking machine though.. I'd love to see it in action. Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
konradptr 0 #5 November 4, 2002 Yea, I remember seeing this in Popular Science (or Popular Mechanics). Can't wait until everyone has their own, since people are such great drivers on the streets already. And just wait until people try flying this thing while putting on make-up, etc, and even better, after a couple beers... Isn't technology wonderful? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......
ChileRelleno 0 #6 November 4, 2002 Carpooling would be a joy for us skydivers if we were not at the controls. Jump into work and then jump back home. Kickstart your day and then winddown with skydives! ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
jceman 1 #7 November 4, 2002 Quote Hmmm.. driving to work may never be the same again http://www.moller.com/skycar/ Don't hold your breath. Moller has been pushing his skycar concept for several decades now, it still has not flown. You'd be better off to put your money into Enron or Worldcom or eToys or somesuch; or try landing a Birdman suit. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
dterrick 0 #8 November 4, 2002 ...holding my breath or not I WANT ONE!! Sing it with me now... "Meet George Jetson... doo-deet-deet doo-de ..." ...and I bet we'd need special licenses, wind up with mid-air traffic jams and - worst of all - parachutists would be one-upped (hell, parachutes would likely become the 'air bags' of tomorrow... where would the fun be in that?)
