Vallerina 2 #27 November 4, 2002 QuoteI don't think it will cause any gender seperation......but if continues at this rate - it's named should be changed to the Women's Whining Forum.........No offense ladies - but I am seeing a trend in the threads - and I don't much care for it....... Couldn't have said it better myself. I just thought that the Women's Forum would give us an opportunity to discuss things that make us genetically different from boys without people acting immature. It's awesome that women who have difficulty finding gear, etc have a place to discuss options with people who have been there. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
blackwidow 0 #28 November 4, 2002 I don't think that a girl "flirting" with a guy in any way gives him the right to be a jerk or overly forward. But, sometimes when guy flirts back to a girl flirting he's seen as a jerk. Doesn't that seem like a double standard. When a female at a DZ takes things for free (coached jumps, etc.), it can be an invatation for trouble, because some guys do try to take advantage. But at one extreme, this can sound like the pro athlete whom makes millions and gets everything for free HAS to deal with the damn press. Well, yeah. I think that moderation is the key. quade 4 #29 November 4, 2002 Quote Wasn't there a thread about this sort of thing a while back, talking about how a good majority of women dress for comfort at the DZ, not worrying about hair/make-up/etc? Possibly -- believe it or not, I don't read them -all-. Comfort is fine. I have no problem with that, but if a woman wears little more than a thong and walks around a DZ, she'd have to be an imbecile not to think she's going to attract the attention of most of the men and a number of women as well.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
skycat 0 #30 November 4, 2002 no kidding they needs to quit making those RW suits so form fitting, showing all those curves is just wrong. Fly it like you stole it!
PLFXpert 0 #31 November 4, 2002 I second your bullshit call, Skybytch. Although, typically I am a classy dresser, rather than slutty, I've been known to wear a bikini top at the DZ b/c it's so f*cking hot here in the summer. I can assure you, I definitely wear it for comfort and not for attention;-). Although, giving the guys a break, I also think some girls DO purposely dress/act a certain way for attention. But, regardless, I don't consider this, "asking for it." I consider it a cry for help.

You didn't happen to see the "Spank Me" portion of the "Jump for the Cause" final ceremony did you? All of the women were wearing jumpsuits, but I think it was one of the sexiest moments I've ever witnessed in public. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

blackwidow 0 #41 November 4, 2002 Quoteshe -should- dress in a way that doesn't attract too much attention. I find it difficult to believe that any woman knowingly walks into a location populated by at least 85% males without taking this into consideration one way or the other. This is why I try to keep at least 90% of my clothing on in public. So the women don'w swarm me. I see how hookers dress. I don't want to be a hooker. I don't want to give the wrong impression while at the DZ, so I try to keep really baggy clothing on. But sometimes, I just want to be comfortable, so I wear my speedo. hahaha

happythoughts 0 #44 November 4, 2002 QuoteDoesn't that seem like a double standard. Duh, yeah! Ever since I was 14, I've been expected to pay for dinner. Also, every woman reading this thread knows how to flirt to get her way and then say "who me?" It may not be dress, it may be body language. All women know the difference. The proof is the catty remarks that they make to each other about how so-and-so is dressed. Or how so-and-so is throwing themselves at that guy... All women know what it looks like, how to turn it on, how to turn it off. Turn it on for some advantage, but don't complain that you attract more fish than the ones you want. skymama 37 #47 November 4, 2002 I think the forum should stay. As with every other forum on the site, if it's not your cup of tea, then don't go there. But, some women feel a lot more comfortable talking about some subjects with women in a serious way. It is very nice to get to the bottom of a thread and not have someone say "boobies!" at all. That joke ran it's course about 100,000 threads ago, now it's just tired. On another point, I do feel I have to "prove" myself at the dz. So often new guys who jump with me seem surprised at the end of the jump when they see how stable my sit is, how I can match their fallrate and also how I can fly right up to them and not knock them out. I don't think they would have the same reaction if I was a guy.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
