fastmartin2002 0 #1 November 5, 2002 does anyone else have this problem. i tend to be lazy and just set my garbage outside the door until i get ready to take it to the dumpster. my landlady just posted a note on my door informing me that she was putting this issue in writing and that she wouldn't ask again. should i feel scared? FallinWoman 1 #5 November 5, 2002 If you don't want to take it all the way to the dumpster, leave it right inside your door...it will remind you to take it out and not offend anyone else. just a thought. Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

fastmartin2002 0 #7 November 5, 2002 the dumpster is about 50 yards away---too far to launch. what gets me is the gall of that bitch threatening me that, "she wouldn't ask again!"

FallinWoman 1 #11 November 5, 2002 I gotta say that I am with your landlord here. No one wants to smell your garbage. There are a lot of people who really wouldn't worry about it, but some people really care about the appearance of their home. You live near other people, and should take into consideration that it is their home, also. Just leave your garbae inside your apartment or walk it all the way to the dumpster. It seems like a reasonable request to me. Anne
Slowfaller 0 #12 November 5, 2002 If she's not gonna ask again then you have nothing to worry about. Or you can give her a little lovin for special privilages like in the movie "Kingpin"Chris --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM

wmw999 2,589 #14 November 5, 2002 Has she asked before, even if informally? Is it posted somewhere (even obscure) where you live? Regardless, she's within her rights to ask that. Yes, it's less convenient, but you're within your rights to move, too. She may just have been burned once too often by other tenants who paid lip service to requests and never did anything. Anyway, you could always get a cute little kitty-shaped laundry hamper (better ventilation), and call it "kitty litter."Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. skymama 37 #15 November 5, 2002 We're not allowed to leave it outside my complex either. Besides what Fallingwoman wrote, there's also the issue of animals possibly getting into it and spewing the trash all over the place. Have some consideration for everyone else. It's YOUR trash, if you don't want to walk it to the dumpster right away, keep it inside. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
fastmartin2002 0 #16 November 5, 2002 i can't win for losing. fallinwoman i did what u told me and brought the garbage inside. my girlfriend just came in and jumped on me for bringing it inside. i guess i'm going to have to get off my lazy ass and start taking out the garbage regularly. FallinWoman 1 #17 November 5, 2002 And that would be the best solution....then no one has to smell it!!!! I am lucky...I sometimes just put mine outside my door, but I have a house...and no one cares.... Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!
skymama 37 #18 November 5, 2002 LOL. Good idea, since it's only 50 yards. See, you solved your own problem! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

fastmartin2002 0 #20 November 5, 2002 damn girls go easy on me. btw, there r other issues between me and her that r unrelated to my being her tenant that cost me a little money. it has made our relationship a little tenuous to say the least. also, there was another tenant who did the same thing i did at the same time and he didn't receive his threat! PLFXpert 0 #22 November 5, 2002 Yea, I have to agree w/ FallinWomen, if I were your neighbor, I wouldn't want to look at your trash. If you live in an apartment complex, everything inside is your terrritory, everything outside is SHARED territory and should be kept clean. I don't gather my trash until I'm about ready to leave, and then I just take it out on my way out to the garbage can.

Zinger 0 #25 November 5, 2002 Dude don't give the lady any grief, I'm a landlord and sometimes we have to bitch about stuff like this, Other tenants might be complaining, Rats and other critters will no doubt find it, Maybe they where warned by a code enforcer prior to this, Fire and tripping hazards make insurance adjusters raise rates, I can go on and on. Sucks but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. ------Have a good one!--------
