peek 21 #1 March 5, 2013 This question is for informational purposes only. I am not trying to sell anything here. I would just like some opinions on what this pilot emergency parachute is worth, so I can help out a former rigging customer. National 360, unknown harness/container options, with Phantom 24, both 14 years old, last repack April 01, excellent shape, stored well. Simple calculations on the 6 years left out of the 20 year life declared by National gives me $660 out of the $2200 purchase price. Any other guesses? airtwardo 7 #2 March 5, 2013 Gary It's hard to say on those...'what the market will pay' is the actual but unhelpful answer. I've seen better PEPs go for 250.00 and junk sell for 1500.00. It's a limited market with often less than knowledgeable consumers doing the trading. email Walt ~ He has a lot of experience with that stuff. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=dpreguy; ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
councilman24 37 #3 March 5, 2013 Is that a new Phantom Aerostar or an old Phantom? If an old one I might not even want to pack it. I certainly wouldn't recommend someone buy it. I think this may be a new one. But it is a 24 with a max recommended pilot weight of 177lbs. In US that limits market. The service life may not be a legal requirement (I'll believe it when it's litigated) but I don't want to be the rigger in court saying why I didn't follow the manual. But that's another discussion. Excellent condition.. probably worth more than the $660 on the pilot market on ebay. At least one dz.com user would ask a lot more. I'm old for my age.
