CanuckInUSA 0 #4 November 8, 2002 If I could I'd give you guys links to the AOPA (Airplane Owner's and Pilot's Association) weather website, but you need to be a member to access those pages. But here's another free aviation related weather forcast website: http://adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/projects/adds/progs/ It's not looking good for the western half of the USA and Canada. I'm going to cross my fingers that I'll still get to jump here in Colorado tomorrow and for you in Texas Amber, it looks like the skies will be clear, but there is a cold trough disecting Texas which is probably what's causing your high winds. Man doesn't Mother Nature know my jump numbers are low and that I need good weather to bring them up? Aghh!!! Sebazz1 2 #5 November 8, 2002 I don't know what it is, I guess we just have not had any rain for like 5 months so this is all very fun right now. The storm we are having right now is killer. The little kid inside me wants to go run around and stomp in puddles and charge up n down muddy slopes. I just got a call from a friend who is out at the beach and they have 45'-50' waves at this one break called Mavericks near Half Moon Bay. Anyway they have these jet skiers towing surfers into the wave then they charge out and the surfers ride out of these monstrous gigantic waves. Oh I am so out of here early. Power is out everywhere, tree limbs, light poles... It's very awesomeMaybe I'm just wierd...

freeflir29 0 #13 November 8, 2002 I have a serious head cold. So...even though it will be PERFECT weather this weekend I won't be jumping. Oh well.....that's $130 or so that I can put towards getting my canopy relined. I guess I will get lots of school work done too.

Michele 1 #16 November 8, 2002 Ya know, it's great to have this come through. It's pretty mild here in SoCa, rain and light winds. But we so badly need the rain! It's a great change of pace. As for surfing, that is something I've never tried, but I second Sebazz in the childish heartsong of stomping puddles and running around in the rain. It's yummy! mouth 0 #17 November 8, 2002 Too cold here to go charging through any puddles, and since it is sunny anyway there are no puddles. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.

CanuckInUSA 0 #21 November 8, 2002 Quotecanuk, where ya planing on jumping this wekend???? what weekend was it everyone was planing to come down to sdtr??? I am likely going to get up early tomorrow and drive the two or so hours down to SKTR (Canon City) to check it out. But I'm a little discouraged at the moment. I went up for a lunch time flight over Denver (I'm also a licensed private pilot) to try and stay current and I encountered some moderate turbulence (which many non-flyers would say is severe turbulence). But as I said, unless I'm looking at some nasty weather in the morning, I will likely drive down to Canon City to check it out and hope for the best.
