AggieDave 6 #27 November 12, 2002 You missed the point. Notice that the only fans that get on the field after a game at Kyle field are the fish (freshman) in the Corps of Cadets to tackle the Yell Leaders (which has more to it then just that and is a great tradition, also). My point was that some unruley fans who's only purpose is to get on the field to maybe tear down the uprights do not deserve to be on the field. Also, the senior cadet who assaulted a fan a few weeks ago was out of place, he shouldn't have struck him, and charges are being filed. That cadet who has dedicated nearly 4 very hard years in the Corps of Cadets is going to be kicked out of the Corps of Cadets and probably the University, he deserves it. On the other hand, I was apart of the Corps of Cadets who chased OU fans off the field two years ago. We chased them off the field but did not attack them. This is sort of like people who walk on the grass at the MSC or wear their hats in the MSC, I will ask you to uncover or ask you to not stand/walk on the grass, but I will not strike you. You point is valid about many of the stadiums being memorials; however, for me Kyle Field is special, above and beyond the others, simply because the people we memorialize are Aggies. That isn't something that I expect you to understand, since you were never an Aggie and the majority of people who aren't Aggies don't understand what it means to be an Aggie. Sort of like the reaction after Bonfire fell 3 years ago (3 years ago Nov 18th), people just don't understand. Sort of like trying to explain why you jump to a die hard whuffo, but more intense. "Give me an army of West Point graduates and I'll win a battle, give me a handful of Aggies and I'll win the war." --Gen. Patton. (that quote doesn't really have any place in my post, I just like it and remembered it while writting, thought I'd toss it out there for fun --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
