nitrodan 0 #1 November 11, 2002 over the last couple week we've had a mom and son going through our AFF program. Ryan is the son he's 19 (i think) his moms in her late 30s early 40s ryan passed level 7 and his moms on level 6 (i think) and she's even more excited about it that he is. This may happen a lot at other DZS BUT i think its the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Have any of you seen this before.DAN SMITH www.skydivewichita.com
christoofar 0 #2 November 11, 2002 I've never seen a mom/son or any parent combo going through AFF at the same time. I have seen an entire family exit the Otter before, which I thought was cool (daughter/mom/grandma and gramps, all tandems). ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! wlie 0 #3 November 11, 2002 Casch is 17 and his mom... Don't you know it's rude to ask a lady her age?Well... They're progressing in the static-line program last I heard. Casch is already jumping solo, and working on his graduation dive. But mom bought the beer? My other ride is the relative wind.

nitrodan 0 #5 November 11, 2002 My hat is off to you and your mom if you ever get to wichita maybe we could put together a mother and son jump? I wonder how many points it would take to get the record for that 4way.DAN SMITH www.skydivewichita.com
misskriss 0 #6 November 11, 2002 There isa father/son who do this at my dz. I remember them going through AFF together and now they're out there every weekend. I think it is awesome.. I have 4 yrs before my oldest is 18 and can go with me..
nitrodan 0 #7 November 11, 2002 I actually saw ryans mom stop him on the way to the plane on level 4 and say "OKAY HONEY LET ME SEE YOUR ARCH" with that mother knows best voice it was sooooo funny!DAN SMITH www.skydivewichita.com
Lolie 0 #8 November 11, 2002 I had a friend come to the dz with me to do a tandem, and his parents came along. Once we got there, though, his mom was so excited that she did one too. I think she had more fun than he did! 174fps 1 #9 November 11, 2002 We had a Father,Son and Daughter take PFF(Canadian AFF) this summer/Fall Father and Son graduated the daughter has a couple more levels. The daughter doesn't like having to get up so early on the weekend to go to the DZ. We were imagining Dad knocking on her bedroom door " Now you get up and go Skydiving Young Lady"( Best do your homework voice) "Awwww Dad..."
hooked 0 #10 November 11, 2002 Quote That's right wlie, what are moms for?? Casch, that is the coolest! My story is, I'm the Mom wanting to skydive. So far, one son has done a tandem with me and the other son, well, he is afraid for me and won't even come to watch. Lolie 0 #11 November 12, 2002 Quote he is afraid for me and won't even come to watch. That's the way my mom is. She says if I get a Tandem rating, she'll do a tandem with me. I doubt it. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become. mountainman 0 #12 November 12, 2002 My dad and brother are going through the SL program right now. They are both done with 11 jumps. They both want to get their licencse and get a rig. I'm psyched about jumping with them! http://www.brandonandlaura.com
wmw999 2,588 #13 November 12, 2002 My son (who has about 50 prenatal jumps) was going to make one for his 18th birthday. But he decided to jump when he could afford to keep doing it instead. Now he's got a project car instead. I'd love it if he jumped. But being his mother, I'd nevertheless be so scared each and every time. Brisco 0 #14 November 12, 2002 My son (30 years old) paid for my first tandem this past June as a father's day present. I, in turn, invited my father (77 years old) and my nephew along and we all jumped from the same plane together. My son and I got hooked and continued training, me here in NC, him in Fla. We were about neck and neck in training at 13 jumps when he got sidelined by a motorcycle accident. As soon as he's healthy he's going to resume his training and I'm only a couple of jumps away from my A license now. It's been really cool exchanging e-mails with him about our jumps and we're both looking forward to eventually jumping together again. Dumpster 0 #15 November 12, 2002 I've got a 15 year old daughter, Sarah, who LOVES coming to the DZ with me when she visits (lives in NY with the ex-) She can't wait to jump- She began learning how to pack, and I actually jumped her first pack job- (she was closely supervised, of course, but I think it gave her a confidence boost-) I'm really looking foward to jumping with her, probably chasing her on a tandem. Really cool! Easy Does It
airgord 1 #16 November 12, 2002 One of my old teammates Joe Helfer got his mom to start jumping a few years ago, Frankie now has over 1000 jumps and can turn points pretty well for a grandma!
novacaine 0 #17 November 12, 2002 We have a Mother who jumps with her daughter out this summer at my DZ. It was cool to see them (from the ground) doing some RW togehter. I felt a little lonely watching that since both my parents have no interest "watching (me) kill (myself)" as mom puts it. My father on the other hand says he'll "Only watch the vidoes". I think its awesome family bonding when I hear/see family members jumping together.
Casch 0 #18 November 12, 2002 I had always wanted to jump, and my mom tends to want to do anything that a "normal" mom would never do. She did a tandem the same day I did my first static and we were both hooked. Neither of us ever planned to do the full student program...but...well...I think we all know how that goes
