PLFXpert 0 #3 November 7, 2002 Right on! I will be enjoying some fun stuff this weekend, as well, skydiving-related. I also want to thank all the veteran's out there who gave me Monday off! I had to schedule a personality test for that morning for an after-graduation job, but after that, I have the day off. Wish me luck...I hope I have a personality
mouth 0 #4 November 7, 2002 You have a great personality. Make it fun and you'll do great. Also, flashing then a smile can't hurt!! . -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
PLFXpert 0 #5 November 7, 2002 He he he...well, it's a written test, so I'm not sure a smile will do, but the guy IS coming in special for, me, since I'm not available on the regular days they do them. It's for a financial planning position at American Express. I've been getting tons of calls for positions in this field so I thought I might as well learn more about it, since the #s are good and I would feel good knowing I'm helping people make the most of their $$$ for retirement. Maybe I could convince them that investing in my skydiving career would be a wise decision...HA HA HA HA!
nacmacfeegle 0 #6 November 7, 2002 'personality test' WTF is one of those? Please bear with me, I'm just an ignorant Scotsman...-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. PLFXpert 0 #7 November 7, 2002 A lot of big companies require personality tests (introvert/extrovert, how you handle stress, etc.) to discover if you'd be a good candidate for a position or not. Mostly these are done in sales/marketing/customer relations-type fields when communication and ability to make people feel comfortable with you are of key importance. They seem silly, but, what can you do, it's a requirement. Typically they ask the same questions over and over, but in different ways, to ensure validity of your statements. It will take 45 minutes. It sucks to think someone could grasp my entire personality in such a short amount of time...but I'm not complaining....I WOULDN'T WANT IT TO TAKE LONGER! nacmacfeegle 0 #8 November 7, 2002 Wow, I seldom even get interviewed for the jobs I get, and most of the time the interview is just an excuse to catch up on social things.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. nacmacfeegle 0 #10 November 7, 2002 Its a contract/freelance type thing, I'm fairly specialised so the marketplace is small.... But yeah, I am kinda lucky. Hey good luck either way.... I like hearing about skydivers who succede in their professional lives. >>chucking lucky white heather across the Atlantic<<-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. PLFXpert 0 #11 November 7, 2002 Thank you, NacMac. I'd like to succeed in both professional/skydiving lives, but if I'm going to get more jumps in, and buy a house w/in the next year here at the beach...I need to make decent dineroBasically I work my bootie off for everything I want, hoping and praying it will pay off. Thanks for the vote of confidence
