Skydiving on Ripley's

Recommended Posts

on TBS on the west coast at least.

Just watched it.
Dana Bowan GK jumping again and apparently training other amputees to jump as well.
Some great technology there, but I’m more impressed with his strength and persistence scuba, biking, running, skydiving... seriously grabbing life..

very very cool..

When I saw it, not only did I think very cool, but very lucky...most people wouldn't be able to afford that type of technology that would allow him to do all those things.

I remember when the incident happened, though and it was very cool to see him perservere.

i imagine the military helped initially and not to be morbid but IIRC the your SGLI (military life insurance) pays out for major disabilities (losing both leg counts i believe) not to mention there is probably some corporate backing for research and development of modern prosthetics

The 100% disability rating that I'm sure he recieved. Which means he gets 100% of whatever his base pay was when he got out.

And I believe that is tax-free, too, isn't it?
