skygirlpc 0 #33 November 13, 2002 I don't like hospitals, (people go in and don't come out) although I wouldn't call that a phobia. I will admit to having a slight phobia of germs. Mainly public restrooms. Oooh Yuck!

bluefingers 0 #36 November 13, 2002 I’m claustrophobic. And get very irritable in large crowds, especially when I’m trying to get somewhere and everyone else is dawdling – I get very flustered. This is not a phobia, but I have a strong aversion to yellow. Ever since I was a baby. My mom used to put food colouring in my custard otherwise I wouldn’t eat it … Kerry

Casch 0 #39 November 13, 2002 Quote I’m claustrophobic. And get very irritable in large crowds, especially when I’m trying to get somewhere and everyone else is dawdling – I get very flustered. THANK YOU! I can't stand how people always walk so slow, and don't get out of your way!! I'm overweight, 245lbs at 5'8" so you would think I would be another one of those annoying people, but I walk twice as fast as everyone else and it absolutley drives me crazy when people give me no way around them and refuse to pick up the pace (my HS is WAY overcrowded...damn freshman). I'm not afraid of spiders or anything, I just hate them. I'm not real squeamish around them...I would just rather stay on the other side of the room. We respect eachother's space. I think this started when I lived in the basement of my mom's house (fully furnished don't worry. I wasn't getting my daily water from a leak in the pipes ) and the house was always full of spiders. There would often times be a spider in the shower...I hate that. I love to swim, but I hate the thought of drowning. It scares the crap out of me. I need to breathe...it's sort of important to me. Breathing is something I've grown quite accustomed to and it would piss me off if the 02 wasn't there!
Squeak 17 #40 November 13, 2002 Yeah but only up in the far north Summer itme here inPerth is Fantastic, I'm looking faward to 6 weeks of jumping I'm afraid of spider webs ()not spiders), when i was about 8 I was running through the bush (a forrest) and ran through a spider web, it covered my face and terrified me. Now when ever i go through one i do this BIG song and dance routine, (it's really quite pimal) with lotas of shreiking and jumping about. I'm told by those who have seen it that it's quite amussing to see a though looking 30 somthing bloke shrieking like a kid You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
ernokaikkonen 0 #41 November 13, 2002 >And get very irritable in large crowds, especially when >I’m trying to get somewhere and everyone else is dawdling Ha! Same here! And the worst part is when, in a store for example, some slowly moving person suddenly decides to stop in the middle of the aisle blocking my way! Grrr!Wait a minute, this should go to the "Pet peeve"-thread... Oh yeah, phobias... hmmm.... I don't like heights, but will climb a ladder if I have to. I don't like swimming(it's dangerous you know, you could drown) unless I'm drunk and there's a lake next to the sauna... I guess I don't really have a phobia. >This is not a phobia, but I have a strong aversion to yellow. Gee, how can you use the smilies then?
Kinaa 0 #42 November 13, 2002 I'm afraid of cows (yes cows ), don't know why, but I'm so scared if they are near me. I tried to overcome the fear and face them, but got so scared, and run away like mad. The second fear is of heights, that is the reason why I started to skydive, to overcome it. I'm crazy for skydiving now, but I'm still afraid (but not much) on heights when I'm without parachute. I.
PLFXpert 0 #43 November 13, 2002 No tangible fears...my only fear is having my heart broken. As far as tangible things, though....I have none...there hasn't been anything on Fear Factor I wouldn't do. And, if you watch that MTV show, "I bet you will" then I would do all that, too, except, not for as cheap as they do it. Some girl shaved her head for $100! Some guy ate three big, narley centipededes for a measly $50. I'm thinking to myself, "They pay people 50k to do that shit on Fear Factor, you cheap people!" (sarcastic) I strongly believe in mind over matter. It is definitely possible....I haven't taken any martial arts or anything like that, I've just always been able to do it. I can relax myself, clear my mind, and put full concentration on one thing. People don't believe me, but when I got my two tattoos, I didn't feel a thing. I concentrated with all my energy on relaxing and feeling the tattoo artists spare hand that was steadying himself. I'm not saying I don't ever feel pain...I'm just saying, I believe fears, pain, and quite a number of things in life are all about mind over matter. Muenkel 0 #45 November 13, 2002 I think there is a pattern here. I definitely cannot stand crowds. My idea of hell would be standing in the middle of Times Square on New Year's Eve. I am also not into the blood being drawn thing. Because of this, I have never had the guts to donate blood. Lastly, I find whenever I go somewhere I prefer to have my own car and not be a passenger. That way I can leave whenever I want. _________________________________________ Chris

JohnJug 0 #47 November 13, 2002 I am another one of the people with a fear of heights. If I don't have a rig on or a climbing harness and rope, don't even try to get me close to an exposed edge. I'm not really afraid of any kind of bugs or spiders or anything unless they land on me completely by surprise, then I kind of freak for a second until they are off of me. You come from nothing. You go back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!

christoofar 0 #50 November 13, 2002 Quote Phobias we all have them so what is yours. I have a fear of spiders from when I was younger and had one crawl up my neck when I was in bed. I have learned the only way to overcome your fears is to face them. That is why I skydive so that I will not have a fear of heights I used to play with spiders as a kid, they've really never bothered me. I've subsided a lot of fears lately in my life... like heights, public speaking (to large crowds). There's still some things that bother me... I don't know but for some reason I don't think I could ever bring myself to bungee jump. I think it's because I've seen too many "bungee-gone-horribly-wrong" videos. There's other things that freak me out, too... like that wedding video in Israel early last year where everyone (about 200 people) fell through the floor when the supports gave way.... that REALLY freaked me out! ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES!
