Kris 0 #26 November 14, 2002 Wow! Thanks for the valuable information from everyone! But, I have decided to keep my eyes on the prize and I'm going to hold out for NC. The guy we have there has been with the company for 32 years. He's either got to retire, go crazy, or check into a nursing home sometime soon.I'll have to send him some brochures on retiring in sunny Florida to see if he gets the hint. Thanks again! Sure they might be a bit scary at first for some, but there can be no doubt that they force you to hone your spotting and canopy control skills. 6 words, Blue Sky Adventures, St. George, SC nuff said, well, okay it is four words and 2 abbreviations, but hey I'm not afriad of dying, I'm afraid of never really living- Erin Engle
AggieDave 6 #28 November 14, 2002 I doubt that it could beat Eagle Flight Skydiving in Granbury, Tx. That is one very very tight landing area with all kinds of obsticles everywhere. If you can land there, you can land anywhere.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Now I'm not trying to one up you but factually, Blue Sky is about four times as large as the Stockmar airport. Did I mention that Stockmar has a large hill bisecting the airport? Did I mention the county road which used to intersect the runway? LOL! What some of you guys refer to as "Tight", ASC , Monroe , Blue Sky?.. Some of us see as *huge* landing areas! darkvapor 0 #31 November 14, 2002 I started out at Skydive Texas... hundreds of acres of open grasslands to land in... and if you couldn't hit that, hundreds more acres of flat grassy land around it.. In my limited experience, I haven't had any problems landing at any of the places I've jumped, however, its certainly nice to look down and see infinite possibilities.. freeflir29 0 #32 November 14, 2002 Quote The club then moved up the road to a private airport (Stockmar) at Villa Ricca, Ga. I did my first Solo in a Cessna there. On a windy day.... I really didn't want to go because of the wind but Dodgie wouldn't let me back down. Dodgie and my Dad were friends for 40+ years. He swore till the day he died that those seeds were PLANTED man!!! I sort of don't doubt it but who knows?
