Casch 0 #1 November 15, 2002 I just started thinking about where I came up with the nick name "Casch". I use it for everything, counter-strike, e-mail, nicks on just about everything. I got it from a movie I saw when I was little. It was about this security system of a highrise office building called CASCH, that was "Artificially Intelligent". This new employee starts breaking a few rules and the computer targets him as a threat and starts doing things to kill him (i.e. locking the sauna door and cranking up the heat, screwing with the elevators and such). I can't remember what CASCH stands for, something about computer automated security...Does anyone know the name of the movie???

Casch 0 #3 November 15, 2002 Good movie, but no. This came out before I was born (in 84) when computers could only fit giant office buildings.
narcimund 0 #4 November 15, 2002 Sorry, Josh. Your history's a bit off. To give you a little perspective, Macintosh came out with its first model in 1984. Other desktop computers had been already around for years. First Class Citizen Twice Over

PhillyKev 0 #8 November 15, 2002 I tortured myself with the first one...what a piece of crap. Saw a clip for the new one and it looked like a scene from the first. Some snotty girl answering all the teachers questions. Arbitrary points being given to some group for some reason, and some prickish little blonde kid giving them dirty looks for getting points. I really don't get the attraction. Of course lots of people watch sit-coms and I don't understand how anyone can like that mind numbing crap either. adamT 0 #9 November 15, 2002 I didn't really care for the first one. The game they played with the flying brooms really through me off. There were three balls, one had to be hit through a goal for a point, that makes sense. One was never explained, whatever. And one was really small and flew around really fast and once caught earned your team 100 points and ended the game. It was harry's job to catch the small ball, so everyone elses jobs concerning the other balls were pointless distractions. Because the point of the game was to catch the tiny fast ball for the win. Does that game make any sense in the books? Some one care to explain it to me. adam
SpeedRacer 1 #10 November 15, 2002 You gotta read the books..I read the first two books, and I thought the first movie was really cool, very close to how I'd imagined it, well most of it anyway. The deal with the little ball is that in most quidditch games it NEVER gets caught, on those rare occasions when it is its worth a LOT of points. But in most games points are just scored with goals, etc. so when Harry caught the little ball it really sent his team's score over the top. Unless this (rather crappy) movie has been done twice, your time estimate is off by a decade... IMDB entry for "The Tower", 1993

From Tony Thacker's article in Skydiving this month, that sounds like the Artistic Events (AE) judging at the nationals.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
