weather channel and skydiving

In a litle bit the weather channel is having a segment on skydiving in "atmospheres" (east coast time). I think the segment was filmed in Illinois.

Yes they replay it every now and then. I've seen it. Too bad their weather reports suck as far as wind speed estimates go.

Bummer...the Atmospheres program was preempted because of some severe storm in the northeast or something. Pretty thoughtless of them to have a storm when there's a TV show I want to watch, if you ask me.

I recently heard a DZO say that "the Weather Chanel is our worst enemy" he was so right. They rarely ever report thatits good weather for jumping when it is actually bad. All too often they report clouds n rian or such when its jumpable.

Have that one on my server. weather_chan-atmospheres.mpg in the /from tv/ folder. Its about 90 megs. I'll try to get some of those huge files compressed to more realistic sizes one of these days.
