Kris 0 #1 November 17, 2002 Ugh. Feel like I've been run over by a truck. Twice. Bad migraine Friday, weak today from the roller-coaster. I think they need to make Imitrex in a much larger dosage. I should add the auto-injector I used to my scrap-book. AggieDave, Pablo, Amber, & Freaksis: Sorry I couldn't make it to AOT. I'll just have to make it down there in a couple of weekends. AggieDave 6 #2 November 17, 2002 Well, that answers the PM I just sent you. I'm sorry to hear about your head man and I hope you're doing better by morning! I'll be sure to tell everyone that you're ok (there was some debate) and you'll be back down in a few weeks.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." ladyskydiver 0 #4 November 17, 2002 Ouch! That sounds a bit extreme to get rid of migraines. I suffer from them as well, but....would never remove muscles to avoid them. Life is short! WFFC 1 #5 November 17, 2002 I get them sometimes too. Not to the extreme the article talks about, but if you do get them that extreme, it's an alternative...but...ouch...----- ~~~Michael
AirMail 0 #6 November 17, 2002 Did you figure out what triggered it? My X got them big time. She learned to avoid red wine, brandy, chocolate, salt, MSG, perfume counters in Dept stores, and later she found bananas and raisins were also triggers. Hope this helps. Kris 0 #7 November 18, 2002 Well, my usual triggers are red wine, chocolate and if I have beer and chocolate within 5-6 hours of each other that's just asking for trouble. I don't get them too often but it picks up a lot when during the big season changes from warm to winter and from winter to warm. Fiorcet and Imitrex are my true friends. I think I'll hold out on having surgery. And, every once in a while, I do like to frown (not that often). I can't imagine having any kind of surgery that would alter my ability to emote my feelings to the rest of the world. AggieDave 6 #8 November 18, 2002 You know, drinking 3 bottles of MD20/20 does not constitute a "migraine" the next morning...yeah, you want to die, but you can still come to Texas and jump with AggieDave, Zennie and Pablito...(feeling any better?) --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." SpeedRacer 1 #9 November 18, 2002 I used to get terrible migraines when I was younger. They would start out with a loss of my left field of vision: everything would get all fuzzed out. Then that would go away and the pain would start. It all began with a concussion I suffered when I was 10 or 11, which caused the same temporary loss of vision. Anyway I'd get these migraines a couple of times per year, and there was NO specific trigger for them. Not food, stress, anything. Totally random. I was just a skinny little kid & they gave me phenobarbital for it, and it didn't do shit. Might as well have been a placebo. But over the years the migraines diminished, even though about twice a year I'd still get the fuzzy-vision thing happening, & I'd have to lie down in the dark. But gradually it go to the point where afterwards there would either be only a dull headache or no pain. Weird. Opie 0 #11 November 18, 2002 Fiorcet & Vicodin, only thing that does any good for me. Best when taken immediately before the pain sets in. I've tried Imitrex injection and pills and unfortunately it doesn't help the headache but does make my heart do some funky things

I've tried Imitrex injection and pills and unfortunately it doesn't help the headache but does make my heart do some funky things That's the first time I have heard anyone else but me know what fiorocet is. I have had a perscription for fiorocet since I was 15. Now I am on Fioronal3 with Codeine. But I dont really need them anymore its more recreational. I havent had a migraine in 3 years. Also I hardly ever get my script, cant justify a $75 doctor visit and a $80 script for a little buzz. Funniest thing happened when I moved up here, my new doctor wouldn't give me fiorocet or fioronal and gave me Stadol instead, Whoooo oh my god, unless you have 4 hours to just sit on the couch dont take it. It cures your headache but it messes you up, big time. Then my friend's sister had a baby and you know what they gave her? Stadol, its supposedly something close to Synthetic Morphine. I had to tell my doctor "no more" I like it too much. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

However, my migraines never went away. I get a combo of tension and migraines. Either headache will feed the other. I have tried imitrex, with no success. Also did biofeedback, injections, etc. Anyway, I find the most effective is Fioricet if taken at the beginning of symptoms. However, docs are reluctant to prescribe it because it can become addictive and it can also mess up your liver. _________________________________________ Chris
