Vallerina 2 #1 November 19, 2002 Erin, one of my really good friends from since I was 10, loves Guns n Roses. She would even marry Slash if he put a bag over his head. So, she was very much willing to go to the concert when I demanded her to! We got to the concert, realized we had the worst seats possible, then decided to seat hop. We found a good place by some cool people (even though one of them was a 17 yr old girl who said "Wow! You guys are really old!" Grrr....we bought em beverages anyways....returning the favor from YEARS ago!) We sat through one crappy opening band, then another even worse opening act (who thought playing techno before a rock concert was a good idea?) People started gossiping "Will Axl show?" "How much weight did he gain?" "What song are they gonna play first?" (though, that wasn't really a shocker with Welcome to the Jungle.) Then, it finally happened after years of my parents refusing their young daughter to go to such a concert, bands breaking up, rumors flying of drug addicts (or, maybe that wasn't such a rumor...) Axl finally entered the stage and started doing his damned sexy hip swaying thing just for me (and Erin, too, she said)! The played some good tunes, even the one they wrote for me (and for Erin, too, once again.) They played some not so good songs in the middle...that was boring. They finished it off with Night Train, then Paradise City as the encore! That rocked!!!! I'm still excited! So, my overall opinion is that this concert was awesome! I had my doubts beforehand. But it was so fun watching Axl doing his toe dancing thing live! It would've been better had his mic been louder the first half of the show, if Slash was there, and if the Rif Raf looking guy in Slash's place wasn't there. It also would've been better if people didn't get so mad when others take their crappy second to last row seats! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
novacaine 0 #2 November 19, 2002 Well at least Axl showed up to your concert! I'm glad to hear he did. I was stiffed when he didn't show in BC. F#$k that pissed me off. Here I drive 12 hours for the show and he doesn't show up. I'm still bitter because of that!
AggieDave 6 #3 November 19, 2002 12hrs for a show? Wow, I like G&R, but not quite that much. I drove 3 hrs to watch Pat Green with some friends once, but that's about as far as it goes.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Vallerina 2 #6 November 19, 2002 Quote Well at least Axl showed up to your concert! Yes, after having to listen to an hour of that crappy techno junk, I would've riotted, too, if Axl didn't show up. That, or I would've tied him to a chair and made him sit through hours of that guy butchering every decent song on top of his already playing absolute crap. A random comment of Axl's: "I can call it a reunion tour since I finally found enough pieces of my mind."There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
