weegegirl 2 #1 October 22, 2002 http://www.dropzone.com/features/C-182CrashAFirstJumpStor.shtml I'm sorry. I know that this has been talked about before, since the story is now a few weeks old. But they just put an article up on the homepage about Travis Marshall's first jump. In my opinion, this guy deserves a huge amount of praise for his actions. Younger than I am, never jumped before, and what an excellent attitude. His first worries when he reached the ground - that he lost his handle. I only hope that if I ever find myself in a situation as terrifying as this one, that I can find it inside me to react as quickly and perfectly as all involved in this C182 crash. Mad props sent your way pilot! I'd be honored to jump from your plane anyday.

weegegirl 2 #3 October 22, 2002 I don't know, but I heard that they are being invited to join the very elite Catapiller Club - I know very little about this, but I think it's for people who have to bail from crashing airplanes. Maybe somebody else could fill us in.
kevin922 0 #4 October 22, 2002 Yeah I just read that before you made this post - they didn't comment on the plane, where did it land what damage did it do? Any pictures? Just curious.. amazing it didn't land on anyone/anything
Michele 1 #5 October 22, 2002 Hey, Kevin... From my understanding, it landed in a grove of trees just off the highway there. No damage to any structure, just the plane and some trees.... And yes, Weegegirl, he and they need to go to whatever club/org. that has this as their membership - it's an amazing story! And Travis rocks! Just curious.. amazing it didn't land on anyone/anything I had the added benefit of hearing a friend of mine who was involved recap the story about 700 times two weekends ago. Everybody wanted to hear all about it. There were no pictures - that I know of - other than those taken by the newspaper of the crash scene - not great quality. The plane landed in the woods - I believe between the highway and the dropzone. Nobody was hurt, except the plane. Poor plane. Must have been completely surreal.
