freeflir29 0 #1 December 3, 2002 Well...in almost exactly one month I will kiss this cubicle hell goodbye. I sorta have some mixed feelings. This job has great benefits and I'm up to about $21 an hour with another raise coming in Feb. However, this sitting in a cubicle just isn't for me. I have grown to hate this job. I just got off the phone with a company based in Virginia. They are going to fly me to a training course next month and I'll start work right after that. My first job in the security industry!!!!!!! The pay isn't exceptional but I will have A LOT more time off and I'll travel all over the country for work. I'll end up probably bringing home more money over the course of the year which is cool. I'll be working more hours though. Then again...I'll be in many differen't places for work so I can visit more DZ's. This also gets me on my way to my ultimate goal of owning my own company and being independantly wealthy. Anyway....I'm stoked....but come January I won't be on here INCESSANTLY anymore. I will try to stop and say hi now and again and I will definately be around to visit MANY DZ's around the country. PEACE YO!!!!!

I'm happy to hear you're finally getting to move on to what you really want to do. Life is so much better, regardless of income, if you can truly say you're lovin' what you do. freeflir29 0 #24 December 4, 2002 Quote what kind of company do you want to own in the long run I want to own my own Security business. Of course I want to stay towards the high end of things doing stuff like Executive Protection for CEO's, famous people, etc. Maybe some contracting to the Govt. Security assesment and consulting to corporations. That sort of thing. I just have to take this job for some resume fodder. I need some new stuff above and beyond my military experience. Quote You still trying to get that other job we talked about? Oh definately!!! But you know how SLOW Uncle Sugar can be. I'm thinking I won't hear anything on that until the end of Feb or so. That will be the 1 year mark since this process began. 12 months seems to be the majic number....
