Zlew 0 #1 December 5, 2002 OK guys. You have to help me out here. I have after shave.... THink I've had a bottle on had as long as I've been shaving. I don't get razor burn or anything like that...and usually don't use after shave. Can any of you really explaine to me what it's for? It says to sooth harsh shaving....but when you put the stuff on after a "harsh" shave, it does anything but sooth...it BURNS like hell! Imagine that, it's mostly alcohol..... Any thoughts? wlie 0 #2 December 6, 2002 Get the lotion kind - it don't burn. My favorite was New West by Aramis, but it's not longer made. It leaves a nice cool feeling like rubbing ice.My other ride is the relative wind.
Gawain 0 #3 December 6, 2002 They say the alcohol helps tighten the skin..yada yada... I think the quality of the shave depends on the shaving cream and the sharpness of the razor. When I was on Acutane, and was experiencing severe skin dryness, I used an "ultra-light" hydrator, it worked better than any aftershave. It's a very light unscented lotion available at any cosmetic counter or dermatologist. I don't remember the brand, but I still use it today on occasion. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Sonic 0 #4 December 6, 2002 splash cold water on your face, then put it on.----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone
Zlew 0 #5 December 6, 2002 uh oh.... think i might fail in the quality department. Shaving cream: Shampoo lather (%95 of the time shave in teh shower...) and a Mach 3. I almost never have any kind of irritation or anything like that. I just found that not using it never seemed to hurt me...and using it just burns like hell..... Zlew 0 #6 December 6, 2002 well, it didn't burn when u add the cold water... But how does it help? I mean it has to do something more than be good just by not hurting..... Z
Sonic 0 #7 December 6, 2002 Try a normal lotion instead of the other stuff you're using.----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone
kevin922 0 #8 December 6, 2002 I don't ever use it either, however i have been known to use it in place of cologne (i don't normally wear cologne..) Mach 3 is the way to go.

Dude...if your skin feels okay before you use aftershave...don't use it. However, I can relate to your query as to whether one should use the stuff...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! AggieDave 6 #10 December 6, 2002 I use it on occasion, since if I don't shave just right and if its hot out/humid I get decently bad razor burn. I've found that cold water helps me out more then anything, though. That and keeping a very sharp razor and using the proper shaving gel. Electric razors really mess me up, really bad razor burn...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
jose 0 #11 December 6, 2002 I have found that it makes an interesting masturbation lubrication. Try it and let us know how it goes.
