quade 4 #1 December 6, 2002 Quotehttp://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/12/20021205-7.html If the White House has proof, then why not just show it like they did with the photos during the Cuban Missle Crisis and put an end to all this silliness. Since when can anyone -prove- they -don't- have something? Kind of like asking the U.S. to -prove- they don't have UFOs parked at Groom Lake. Even if they let people in to inspect, there would always be somebody that said they simply moved them. (BTW, I do -NOT- believe there are any UFOs at Groom Lake. I'm just using that as an example.) Even more odd . . . why the F doesn't Helen Thomas know you can't prove a negative? Or if she -does- know (and let's all hope she actually does), then why isn't she calling Ari on it?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
wlie 0 #2 December 6, 2002 Didn't they (Iraq) 3 or 4 months ago televise some parade that had marching soldiers, tanks, big rockets, ++. If I remember correctly, it wasn't far from the Iraqi elections. If someone has a video of that news (like anyone would tape the evening news), could that be submitted as evidence in court (the UN I guess)? So where do you believe tehy parked the UFO? My other ride is the relative wind.
quade 4 #3 December 6, 2002 Soldiers, tanks and rockets aren't the issue. The issue is NBC weapons (aka "weapons of mass distruction") nukes, bio and chemical. As for the UFOs, only the listeners of the Art Bell program know for sure. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
wlie 0 #4 December 6, 2002 Well if those rockets shown on TV are capable of delivering anything but pizza, what's the problem? My other ride is the relative wind.

AggieDave 6 #6 December 6, 2002 I read today (I'll try to find the link, I don't remember where it was) that a former UN inspecter basically said that he believes that the current UN inspecters are being led around by the nose and they won't find anything simply because they're not being pro-active and assertive enough. We know for a fact (once again, I don't have a link, I read it somewhere a while back) that Iraq had been importing material and parts that could be used to assemble stuff to make Bio weapons. So basically everything I have to say can't be back up yet, since I can't remember the links for what I'm talking about.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Gawain 0 #7 December 6, 2002 From that briefing: QuoteMR. FLEISCHER: Let me cite for you something I think you will find constructive. This is July 31, 2002, Senator Biden's committee up on Capitol Hill, and this is a statement by Richard Butler, formerly of the United Nations. Quote -- this is Richard Butler speaking -- "It is essential to recognize that the claim made by Saddam's representative that Iraq has no weapons of mass destruction is false. Everyone concerned, from Iraq's neighbors to the U.N. Security Council to the Secretary of the U.N., with whom Iraq is currently negotiating on this issue -- everyone simply, Mr. Chairman, is being lied to." And Mr. Butler, formerly of the U.N., continued, "From the beginning, Iraq refused to obey the law. Instead it actively sought to defeat the application of the law in order to preserve its weapons of mass destruction capabilities." Two more paragraphs -- "The work of UNSCOM, the body created by the United Nations Security Council to take away Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, had various degrees of success -- varying degrees," said Mr. Butler. "But above all, it was not permitted to finish the job. Almost four years have now passed since Iraq terminated UNSCOM's work, and in that period, Iraq has been free of any inspection and monitoring of its WMD programs." And then Mr. Butler concluded, "This shows two key things. One, Iraq remains in breach of international law, and two, it has been determined to maintain a weapons of mass destruction capability at all costs." President Bush has said Iraq has weapons of mass destruction; Tony Blair has said Iraq has weapons of mass destruction; Donald Rumsfeld has said Iraq has weapons of mass destruction; Richard Butler has said they do; the United Nations has said they do; the experts have said they do. Iraq says they don't. You can choose who you want to believe. We have all seen the images from 1988, when Saddam used chemical weapons against his own villages, wiping them off the face of the earth essentially. Sorry, I'm with W on this one.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
