Guest #5 December 6, 2002 I would if I was going, but I will make it to Eloy only if a miracle occurs. The Fellowship of the Ring was an excellent rendition of the Tolkien mythos (yeah, a lot was missing, but some corners MUST be cut to get a book like that on film). I'm glad that nobody tried to film the books until the technology was there to make it possible."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." Zenister 0 #6 December 6, 2002 have you seen the special edition DVD? MUCH better..i was sorta disapointed until i saw it.. I'll have my car so and can squeeze 5 unless someone wants to play trunk monkey. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Zenister 0 #13 December 6, 2002 something like 45 min of footage.. covers the Elven gifts, battle scenes are less choppy, more blood actually too actually the normal was 'zoomed' and chaotic really screwed the blocking..i dont have it here or i could list better.. can probably do a search and get a detailed side by side comparison.. indeed Mark i just used 'hype' as the usual promotional term not as a negative..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Guest #14 December 6, 2002 Quote indeed Mark i just used 'hype' as the usual promotional term not as a negative.. Agreed. There are a lot of subjects that get all kinds of promotion in an effort to whip up interest; whereas a lot of them would be forgotten."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." I have the regular edition at home. I bought it like the first week it came out, and I was very dissappointed when the regular dvd had a trailer for the special edition on it! But I've already got it, so I'm not going to buy another one. I was wondering if the special was that much better than the original though. BikerBabe 0 #24 December 6, 2002 At least rent it. There is SOOOO much good stuff on the extended version. Not only the extended movie, but running commentaries by the director, the screenwriters, the post-production crew, and the cast (that's 4 DIFFERENT commentaries), plus more background info than you could ever wish for...including some fascinating stuff about how the CGI effects were done. Including a couple little "easter eggs" that you might get a kick out of. My hubby and I will be seeing TTT on opening night here, but I'm always up for repeat viewings!Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
