rgoper 0 #1 December 6, 2002 See Here big american automobiles, and energy sources have been hot topics lately, it's just starting. this ol' texas boy may be near, or on a coastline near you...soon! but on a serious note, observe how dependant 3rd world countries are economically on oil export dollars. by the way, right now, there are 3 super tankers (one sunk) leaking oil, and gasoline into our offshore waters, so next time we want to blame the "drilling department" STOP.--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
freeflir29 0 #2 December 6, 2002 Don't they do this every couple years. I seem to remember reading about several times that the Petroleum workers went on strike there.
rgoper 0 #3 December 6, 2002 i actually hate to se it happen. i'm sure ol' wyubya will try to be the "world's policeman" and go over there and f**k something up. they're actually just trying to make a decent wage. over here in the middle east, (south america as well) there are varying pay scales, we deal with a diverse draw of cultures, and countries on which to draw our personal. so if your from let's say spain, and your particular job would draw for example: $5000.000 USD per month, you'd draw maybe 1/2 of that in spain, or cairo, jordan or any other small country. i don't think it's right, but the cost of what these people call "living" in these countries is really cheap, but they have no cars, maybe less than 1/8 own automobiles, they choose instead to use taxis, or bicycles, cars are a "luxery" they can't afford. just my 1 riyals worth! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
