justdumi 0 #1 December 9, 2002 Right ok i`m at work and i`m bored as a fish so i`m thinking.... The more skydivers in formation the slower the formation falls right? So how in formation before we can land without opening our parachutes (and live to tell the story over drinks later on)?
TB99 0 #2 December 9, 2002 It's already been talked about on the forums somehwere ... it would take like 200 people, but everyone would need to be so close that no air would come in .. and even then, it probably wouldn't work ... too unstable ... it'd be cool tho:) Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!
nacmacfeegle 0 #3 December 9, 2002 "it would take like 200 people," So the 297 in Anapa, and the 282/285 ways in Thailand could have been landed if the jumpers were more disciplined..... No, I don't think so.....I think we'll put this one in the same box as landing a wingsuit....For the time being anyway. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. TB99 0 #4 December 9, 2002 Here's a link ... the beginning talks about landing a wingsuit, but it goes into landing a bigway, lol ... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=199822;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; Trailer 11/12 was the best. Rdutch 0 #5 December 9, 2002 about 10 years ago, some engineer theoretically added up the #'s and came up with something like 237 average sized people. But we all know that numbers and reality dont always match. Also the designer of the wind tunnel in Orlando couldnt figure out why they put mirrors up high, as it was impossible for a person to go up that high. Anyone that has been to the tunnel knows better. humans are somehow capable of breaking the laws of physic's. But landing a big way, probably wont happen, heck if it fell that slow it would be impossible for someone to shoot video of it without docking. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! " >Och damnit Jim, ye cannae change the laws o' physics..... >I'm a late diver Jim damn you, not a miracle worker.... How would you even dock on a formation flying so slow you can land it... Now put this idea back in the box, before people start to think it can be done....... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. wmw999 2,589 #7 December 9, 2002 Back in the days of balloon suits, a friend came up with a 220-way box. He said it would pretty much suck to be the one guy out, though Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence.
