homer 0 #1 December 12, 2002 I'm planing a trip to Texas in April and was wandering if anybody has purchased a ticket on cheaptickets.com. What was your experience with using the site? Does anybody know of a better site? CSA #699 Muff #3804
jessd 0 #2 December 12, 2002 I never had a problem using the site. I've used it twice - when I went to Hawaii last spring and California in September. The prices were a few hundred dollars cheaper than anywhere else for the Hawaii trip. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..." blewaway5 0 #3 December 12, 2002 yeah, I've used them for tix from Missouri to Maine before, and they did better than anyone else I found. Truman Sparks for President
homer 0 #4 December 12, 2002 I've looked at expedia.com they are a bit more expensive. priceline.com you can make a bid but you have to buy the ticket if it is accepted. HAs anyone tried this? Can you choose your flight and times first then make the big or is it make the bid and get what they give you? CSA #699 Muff #3804
blewaway5 0 #5 December 12, 2002 I'm honestly not too sure. I'm too lazy to screw with that, so I just found the cheapest upfront price and ran with it. Truman Sparks for President
homer 0 #6 December 12, 2002 I have found one for $440.50, but am hoping the prices will go down after the New Year. CSA #699 Muff #3804
Gawain 0 #7 December 12, 2002 I have used priceline, and don't have any complaints, but I don't recommend using it if you don't have flexibility in your schedule. With priceline, you make the bid, and you get what they give you. Priceline is more effective around short-notice trips. So, if you pay attention to what out there for your planned trip (routes, airlines, fares), that will give you very good information to prepare before you bid (i.e. # of stops, etc.). It works, but it's way different than other ticket purchase options. Antithesis 0 #8 December 12, 2002 I like cheaptkts alot. The only one that I've found to beat them is occasionally hotwire.com. Good luck! the fares seem to change daily on all of them. If it's an expensive trip and I don't mind the actual travel times I check all of them..and then throw a really low quote over to priceline to see if they can go for it.. Sometimes they'll go a few hundred below everyone else. The only prob is that you have to be ready to buy anything they give you. WFFC 1 #9 December 12, 2002 Only issue with HotWire though is like priceline, you don't know when you're going. But you do know how much you'll be paying.----- ~~~Michael

Like going to my local travel agent. I prefer very specific airlines, and alot of the "cheaper" sites either don't give me the option, or don't carry the airlines I use. skyboyblue 0 #12 December 12, 2002 I got fucked on priceline when the connecting flight home from denver was cancelled. Non-transferrable, refundable nonsense. I could barely get a voucher for a hotel. I wouldn't do it again. but if i were, I'd use hotwire to find what their lowest price is before you buy, and then go shopping elsewhere, even priceline, if I dared. freeflir29 0 #13 December 12, 2002 I've used Orbitz a couple times now. Seem to have good prices and 0% bullshit. You can pick the EXACT flights you want too. I just bought a ticket for my son from Portland Oregon to Atlanta for $480 total.
