Casch 0 #1 December 12, 2002 I just bought a Soundblaster Audigy Gamer. I already uninstalled the drivers for the onboard audio on my AOpen AK77-Pro and disabled onboard audio in the BIOS. Then installed the drivers for my SB, and it still doesn't work. I have tried a ton of different things and I can't the the F&^%er to work! If any of you have any ideas please send 'em my way

Casch 0 #6 December 12, 2002 OK I got it all figured out now. Windows wouldn't let me delete the "Legacy" audio drivers so I disabled them but my computer still didn't like me. So I went into safe mode to see if I could delete the drivers then, and whadda you know!!! My sound card kicks a$$!

jfields 0 #12 December 12, 2002 Quote Insert RedHat 8.0 Install CD in bootable CD-ROM drive Reboot Follow the Directions I just did that repeatedly. On the machine that didn't have a CD, I installed via boot disk & FTP. Sweet! I'm up to 5 Wintel servers and 6 Redhat servers. Now I just need a Samba configuration slave. jfields 0 #15 December 12, 2002 These are work boxes. When I get home, I don't spend a lot of time on the computer any more. If I'm going to mess around with stuff, I do it at work. Besides, here I don't have to pay for the hardware.
mikkif 0 #16 December 12, 2002 Oh good! Six down, five to go! You are a good man, Justin. Hey, check out Gentoo, though. Your BSD friend might like it to. BTW, I'd love to let my cat loose in his machine room! Those RAIDS drives look pretty precarious, and of course they are the single point of failure, it looks like!Freedom -- Expression -- Spirit
