skygal3 0 #1 December 12, 2002 Do you believe in ESP? Not necessarily like psychokenisis or telepathy...but an "extra sense"? Feelings? My friend is always having these "feelings" and she says something usually comes out of them...anyway, she told me this morning that she had a dream and a very strong feeling about something that is going to happen in my life...(a good thingI have had bad feelings about certain things and have seen something come out of them...I knew a guy at the dz this past summer that had a "bad feeling" before a load...then he showed me the video of the jump. He started to get out onto the side of the plane and just as he looks over there is another plane coming right towards him...very freaky video. Anyway...slow snowy day here... RevJim 0 #4 December 12, 2002 I believe in it very much, and I wish I never get a "feeling" again. When I was 12 years old, I had a dream, as any 12 year old will, that my Uncle (who was more like a father to me than my own father) was in pain, and was leaving me. Got up the next morning, shook it off, and went to school. Got home from school, and my father was working furiously on my new room. I knew something was wrong, since; 1. My father never did anything to help me. 2. He wouldn't even look at me. I asked my mother what was wrong with Dad, and she told me "Your Uncle Jay had a heart attack sometime last night at the terminal (he was a truck driver too), and they found him this morning. He's gone dear." I sat down and cried for what seemed like hours. When my father came down from my room, I could see he had been crying too, but he hid it well. My Uncle Jay grew up with my father, and they were best friends through school and the Air Force. The loss was something that just couldn't be put into words. I never told my parents about my dream, and never will, but that night will haunt me for the rest of my life. I have had no such feelings, perceptions, or dreams since, and I really hope I never do.It's your life, live it! airann 1 #6 December 12, 2002 I have them all the time. But they are more like very strong warning feelings. Most of the time I am right. Not only with me but those I know. Usually I know about who it is but not really, just someone I cant put my finger on. Then other times - when I know something that could be about me- I take it easy and careful. Thus, I guess, whatever it was doesnt happen. Then after a while feeling goes away. Years ago I could tell things about items. Like a shirt or little things. It was extremely strange and uncomfortable. I never said anything about it, but I found out much later that the person these items had to do with had passed away. It comes out of nowhere. I have been nearly on the load at the door and turned around before, many times. I lose my ticket, but thats something I am prepared to lose. I didnt forsee either of my canopy collapses whereby I was hurt, however. Call me crazy -everyone else does!! Beer- 1st time I mentioned this phenom. ~AirAnn~
sunshine 2 #7 December 12, 2002 When i was a teenager, i would often just know things were gonna happen. I would either have a dream or just see a vision. It freaked my family out when i would tell them something and then it happenend. When i got a severe electrical shock at the age of 19, i never had one of those dreams/visions since. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! Muenkel 0 #14 December 12, 2002 ESP, absolutely!!! I get it big time. However, I don't pay attention to it enough. Remember Michele's thread about her cat being operated on? I had a very strong feeling that Bitch Kitty was going to be OK and I posted it before we knew the operation's outcome. Sometimes, I just have to look at someone and I can read them really well. I'll think to myself..."that person really has struggles with such and such". As I get to know the person, 9 times out of 10, I find out I was right on. It's weird stuff. _________________________________________ Chris

SpeedRacer 1 #16 December 12, 2002 hmmm..the thing that makes me skeptical is selective memory. When you have a bad feeling, ie, a sudden inexplicable feeling that something bad is going to happen, and then something bad DOES happen, you remember it & forever after youkeep telling yourself about how you had this psychic premoniton. But when you have that same feeling and something bad DOESN't happen, you soon forget about it & move on. How many of us have needlessly worried about something, or had a bad feeling about something, only to find out that the thing wasn't going to happen? Probably even more often than you can remember. happythoughts 0 #17 December 12, 2002 I agree. People have premonitions of bad stuff every day for 3 months. Then on one day, a flat tire...and they run around saying "See...see... I had a premonition about this...". They forget the previous 3 months where nothing happened.

jumperconway 0 #19 December 12, 2002 I very seldom have really explicit dreams but a few years ago, I woke up in a cold sweat after dreaming of a major airline crashing. The next morning I told a coworker about it. That was the morning that the airliner went down from Maine into the ocean! Two nights ago, I had trouble sleeping at all. I've been following the 300 way and have several friends in it. I was so happy to find that nothing bad happened there yesterday! I don't get these very often but usully when I get them I hear bad things related the next day. Conway 1085
skygal3 0 #20 December 12, 2002 the only thing like that that I have ever experienced is with people dying... Like Mel Torme...for some reason, he was on my mind and I was talking about him the night before he died...the same with Walter Matthau...out of the blue, two people I have never really focused on, but at that particular time I was... Charone 0 #21 December 12, 2002 When I was 15, my grandpa had a heart attck, and went into the hospital. He was in there for about 2weeks ( I think). The day before he went in, I had a dream. It played out in real-time this was no 5 min then wake-up compacted zip dream. the 7 hours, felt exactly like 7 hours. In the dream we were on a house boat floating out on the water, with no shore anywhere around. The sun set for the entire 7 hours, like it was frozen there. It was just he and I, and we just talked and walked around the boat, and on the surface of the water. I can't really describe what we talked about, I can hardly remember these days. But I remember most of all, this warm, secure feeling that everything was alright. The next day, he went into the hospital, and when I found out, I just nodded, knowing that that was what he was trying to tell me in the dream. That we were good, that he was ok. I knew he wasn't scared, I knew he was ready, and that he knew I loved him, and that I never once missed the chance to show him that. People talk about getting to say everything you need/want to say before you go, and let people know what they mean to you. And to me, that's what he did. When he did die, around 2 weeks later, I was fine with everything. I mean, I miss him, but I know he's fine. And it's hard to wish him back here, when I know he's happy where he is now. So, in a strange way, I'm almost happy for him, and secure knowing that when I check-out, I'll get to see him again. Never have I felt something was so perfectly finished, and resolved. On another note, I do alot of "stupid" things. And in several of these situations, I sometimes find myself in a position where and multitude of choices could get me killed, and one can get me out of it. Some how in every situation, I go with my "gut" solution, and it has _never_ failed me. Now if this is intuition, or a gaurdian angel, or just me being wicked-smart, I don't know, but I have learned to trust it.
