Americans and their over-sized cars

Recommended Posts

yes, but it is a step in the right direction... THis coming from a NONenvironmental president. I don't drive suv's cuz I hate them. I do drive a truck though, because my activities involve OFF - Road adventure, by my next vehicle will fall into this catagory.... I think it is possative. The glass is half full in this case.

I agree with you, however, I do feel there is a large(no pun intended) difference in SUV class. I see people driving the Ford explorer, and it doesn't bother me, even if they are soccer moms. It reminds me of the old bronco I, II, and III's

BUT: When I see someone driving a ford excursion, or a Lincoln Navigator I say to my self, What the fuck is it that you do that causes you to need a vehilce that fucking big? Please, enlighten me.

I understand big trucks. They serve a function such as moving "big" things. And for the most part people with big trucks use their trucks to transport large items etc...

But what is a soccer mon doing in an Excursion. What can that vehicle do that a small SUV can not???

In men, a feeling of low self worth, generally brought on by inadequate penis size or low sexual endurance.

Women, no idea, other than they are usually the one's saddled with hauling shit around and dragging hoards of kids all over town. I suppose men in that role can be excluded from the previous paragraph.

As far as the New England thing, I see far more of these monster trucks in California than I do here. We've learned to drive in the snow, thank you. Front-wheel drive, and a little experience generally get you through all but the worst storms.

Out there, it's all about style. Like minivans before them, SUVs are a hip trend that grew out of a legitimate need for a small number of people and took on a life of it's own. Like minivans, there will eventually reach a saturation point where people scorn them because they have become too popular.

Geez, that sounds kind of opinionated. Sorry about that, I just get jagged when one of these things blocks half a lane in the parking lot, and there's only one person in it who obviously doesn't have a good feel for the size of the vehicle.

But hey, it's only a vehicle, it's not like they are driving the deficit through the roof for generations, deeping the wedge between rich and poor, young and old, because of some hormone-driven vandetta with roots back to a minor labor dispute and a previous-generation's vandetta/witch hunt. Oh, sorry. Different thread. ;)

I think Redford should stick to his movies like "Waldo Pepper".

Yeah, I think we can safely ignore an actor's opinions. Its not like they could become president of the USA or anything...

;)

Hey, lets see how many votes that psyhco bitch Barbara gets in an election for President.

Yeah, I'd like to see that one.

BTW, off the topic, but do any of you out there really give a fuck if 100 of Hollywoods actors sign a petition to request the President to not invade Irac?
As if their voices are somehow more important than the UN?

Concieted fucks.

Actually there was a petition a few years back that some actors signed that stated that if Dubya was elected they would leave the country, I really paid attention and felt strongly about this. I am still waiting for the call to help them fucking pack!;)

It wouldn't be some of the same actors that signed that petition would it?

Either way, it just goes to show that these assholes are only there to use their "might" for whatever they think it is good for, to "pursuade" the leaders of this country.

Proof positive that they have no "might" and they are bluffing to the highest degree. They truely make a mockery of the freedom of speech.

Now only if they would excersise their freedom to get the fuck out as promised.

Alec: "Hrmm, well, I guess my career is over. Now what? Hey! I got an idea, how about I act like the rest of America gives a shit about my political views and maybe I can get a camera to point in my direction. Yeah, yeah.....thats the ticket."
