Daizey 0 #1 December 14, 2002 Remember how he posted awhile ago asking where he should go when he comes here for his test? Well, I just got off the phone with him a little while ago, and he has landed safely here in NYC! Right now, hes on the bus travelling to his hotel. When I heard he was gonna be here I offered to be his tour guide for the day-showing him some of the big sites plus a few places I know of....Our day is starting out at grand central at 6:30 am! and consists of seeing the empire state building, time square (luckily we will be there on saturday-not friday - justin Tmberlake was on TRL and the city was full of crazy screaming girls all day ! ), 5th avenue, china town, little italy, central park, and perhaps SNL (if we are lucky - but, i have a feeling we aren't gonna be) Also, a few places I am familiar with and the memorials and site of ground zero. Its gonna be a great day (as long as it stops raining! ) Just figured i'd let ya all know hehe. I'll let ya's know how it goes and will post pics soon!! *daizey*

Daizey 0 #6 December 16, 2002 Chris is now gone But we had a GREAT time in the city while he was here. we didn't end up getting SNL tickets, but that was ok cause we had a great time anyway and chris thinks he did really well on his test too (which by the way was the firemans test). We met at grand central and from that point on we were constantly on the go (except during the test-when i was able to catch some much needed sleep!) It was so much fun. we went to rockefellar center, saw the tree, walked around the NBC studios, fifth avenue, central park, and ground zero. We walked through the remainder of the World Trade center buildings (my fav buildings in NY) and then went to battery park (and saw ellis island and the statue of liberty), city hall, the brooklyn bridge, chinatown (I am never bringing him there again!) and little Italy. We went and saw macys and looked at the window displays (muppet themed haha oh well, it was completely worth it! We saw some great things that made his experience here in NY even more entertaining-like the parade of santas in grand central (there must have been over 100 of them walking through!) Then there was that guy at uhh...whats it called again chris? The mayors place?? Ya know that place where the mayor does...well, whatever he does LOL ) Plus a bunch of other weird things. Then there was the laughs about the police offers and their guns and chris learning how to speak chinease! Oh and he lost a bet (though he won't admit it-but i was right! lol) We were very tired when we went back to the hotel (which was uptown) and watched SNL (we shoulda been there ) kinda overslept this morning, but ended up getting up and each heading home. We said goodbye at the subway station and then went back home (train for me-plane for him). Chris I wanna thank ya so much for the weekend-I had a great time and i hope you did too! I haven't had that much fun (or do that much stuff!) in a long time! haha, I had fun being your tour guide and i can't wait till ya come back! *daizey*

christopherm 0 #8 December 16, 2002 Hehe, I did have a great time. The funniest thing I've ever seen was a one-legged homeless guy pissing on a lamppost in Mayor Park . Thanks to Daizy I wasn't just staring at a map all day. We didn't have too much fun but still had a great time Manhattan was awesome, too bad a could never afford to live there, especially on a fireman's sallary. I think 1 room apartments there goes for like 2,000,000 a month . Anyway, New York is great except for the way people drive and hope too be back this summer for more testing. -So, how hard is the ground?!

cgross 1 #10 December 16, 2002 just some info for all you taking the NYC firemans exam. They will not be doing any hiring with in the next 2yrs. Due to budget constraints noone taking the test can be hired for 2yrs. Chris
