PhreeZone 20 #26 December 16, 2002 I've got a lot of it edited and if you had bothered to get me footage on mini dv instead of VHS it would have gone faster... Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

I had some VHS laying there...so it went on that. It's not like it's hard to plug your camera up to a VCR. Geez...does Jessica put up with all this whining? Pablito 0 #30 December 16, 2002 2002, Iteresting year. I went to visit my hometown after a year an a half for my dad's 60's excellent party, champagne and good asado (bbq), good time with old friends and good times. march 4 came back to be ready for Skydive aggieland's opening. started as the head packer which still I am, then started to shoot video and l8r started coaching, i did 430 jumps this year. Skydivingwise I have improved a bit, but there is much work to be done. Got some close calls which help my awareness and thanks that i didn't hurt anything. Got walked over by few girls but that's life and I will not trade anything that I have done this year. I met great people which are helping me to understand life better. Thanks to all. billvon 3,120 #32 December 16, 2002 I had a year with a lot of ups and downs. I bought a house, had Amy move to San Diego more or less permanently (at least until the next residency) and flew all over the world showing off a system I designed. I watched a very close friend of mine recover from a near-fatal injury and go on to become the lowest-jump-number participant in the women's world record. I got picked for the 300 way team and we managed to get it, and that's something I've wanted for a long time. I also lost my mother to cancer, my grandmother to old age, and both my aunt and uncle to disease. Most of my family is in NY, and it's hard to deal with losses like that from 3000 miles away. A quick visit home and you're supposed to just get on with your life again back in CA. Often it doesn't work like that.

ladyskydiver 0 #34 December 16, 2002 This past year has been good and bad. Good: - got my new jumpsuit - got my new rig - got my A and B license - went to Vegas in October - made some new friends - got in (so far) 37 jumps (after having not jumped for 8 months - started up again in August) - found DZ.com - 2003 is starting out good with a trip to FL (DeLand, ZHills and the tunnel) in January and to RI in April. Bad: - Was making twice monthly trips to my parents as my dad was dying. He lost his fight to cancer in August.Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Zenister 0 #45 December 17, 2002 I learned to fly..and realized how much of my life i'd spent waiting not doing with my feet on the ground... and the sky changed colors.. and found my tribe, without ever knowing i was missing them, or imagined how amazing they'd be.... i could quote a hundred more 'skydiverisms' that would all equally apply but thats really everything there is to say... 182 jumps thus far and 10 flight days before the next begins... dreams of ballons and otter and skyvans and friend to fly with..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. I was a bonafide Cary Quadrat. Ha! That's hilarious!!!! I spent way too much time in Cary Quad (then again, more than 5 mins was too much time there....) I think sophomore year is less fun since fountain runs are no longer cool! Some more things I forgot about this year: Watched my baby nephew grow to a toddler My sister-in-law is pregnant again! (I love kids I get to give back!) Was literally homeless! (And I don't mean dz homeless!) Broke that 2-month dating barrier I had before Started my career Skydive Indiana closed I was dz homeless, too! Going to way too many new dzs to count...met so many awesome people And...most importantly...I finally have new gear!!!!There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
outofit 0 #48 December 17, 2002 been a pretty eventful year for me. started off new years in vegas and it pretty much didn't stop from there. put 14.5k on my harley. was in 24 states including d.c. got to make a tandem with the golden knights which rocked and even made it down to raeford to meet all the crazy monkeys. where next year goes i don't have a clue! It is better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool!
Snowbird 0 #49 December 17, 2002 2002, what a year! Lost my job when the company I worked for closed down That's bad... Which gave me lots of time to try and start my own business That's good! Couldn't get financing to start my own business That's bad... Started skydiving for real That's good! Wasn't working, so I had to steal from Peter AND Paul to pay for my student progression That's bad... Became obsessed by skydiving, and discovered a whole different me who was waiting to come out That's good... Got an actual decent job, with weekends off That's good too! Decided to sell our house, but no one has bought it yetThat's just sad... Did 55 jumps, from student to 'A', bought my own gear, made all sorts of great new friends, got my husband addicted too, and we've got tickets to ArizonaThat rocks! Best jump; can't choose between my third ten second delay, and #55, which was my last coach dive for my 'A' licence. Actually, they all rocked, even the levels I failed. Great moment in my limited skydiving history - doing the last pack job for my packing endorsement, and clearing the nasty entanglement the guys gave me in 15 minutes. They actually wrote down what they did to tangle it, so that they could clear it when I failed. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein
moodyskydiver 0 #50 December 17, 2002 Overall, this year has sucked, but there are a few good highlights. Got engaged--thought that was a good thing at the time.It wasnt and I got my heart broken. Not sure I'm fully recovered from that yet.Had alot of financial, health, and emotional trouble this year.Still struggling with that.Went back to school--good thing but it isnt going well so this might turn out bad.Moved into a new house.Injured my knee.Blew the opportunity to have a job in my chosen career field (that I have been going to school for).Started skydiving--VERY GOOD THING!Made my first tandem, first solo, first boogie and graduated AFF.Still working on my A,but doubt I'll have it by the end of the year.Ordered new gear--Met many new and interesting friends.
