I guess it's because the older I get the better I like myself. I've learned that aging is a growing process and I like to grow and learn. I think it's actually more about caring less and less about what other people think of me. It's an absolute joy to have friends who like you, but my desire to work for that acceptance/approval is about zero. It's great when it happens, but I don't cry in my beer anymore that some individual doesn't take a shine to me. I used to get heartbroken when somebody I liked didn't like me much. For my 500th jump I went nekkid and some people thought that was insane for my age. Those are the same people who stand on the ground and wish they were jumping out of the planes or drive the boat wishing they were skiing.
