RevJim 0 #33 December 17, 2002 ambidextrous The writing from my left hand ain't pretty, but it's still better than many right handers. I shoot bow and guns both ways. I bowl with either hand (I actually had to establish an average with each hand, when my right thumb had a "boo boo"). What freaks my wife out is eating.... I eat mainly with my right hand, but when it comes to things such as steaks, I put the fork in the left hand, knife in the right, cut and eat away, never missing a beat! She has to put the knife in her right, fork in her left, cut, put the knife down, pick up the fork with her right, and eat....and repeat over and over and over. I had her try my way once. WOW! First try she totally missed her mouth with the fork, and the second she forgot which hand had the fork, and damn near shoved a steak knife down her throat! Oh, a buddy of mine has a VW Passat (I think) he brought back with him from Germany. Freaks him out that I can switch sides driving a stick without skipping a beat. He said it took him months to learn to shift with his left hand! It's your life, live it! AggieDave 6 #34 December 17, 2002 I eat steaks that way too, its very German, but it makes life easier when eating steak... I shoot with either hand too, as well with either hand. It took some time to teach myself that, but I was determined (you never know if your right hand will not be available if you have to defend yourself).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." jraf 0 #35 December 17, 2002 Rev, old buddy - what you are saying is that you are eating like a human being. Like civilized people do, like an educated person. I knew why I liked you in SCjraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
RevJim 0 #36 December 17, 2002 Quote I eat steaks that way too, its very German, but it makes life easier when eating steak... OK, that tells me something...I'm 9/16 German, 1/4 Irish, 1/16 Danish, 1/16 Pennsylvania Dutch, and 1/16 Cherokee Indian. Really, that's how the "tree" breaks down. My family always complains too, they say I eay very Danish. (I eat once course at a time, period. I could have 5 different items on my plate, and they all get eaten one thing at a time, with the main course last.) They also equate my outgoing attitude and sometimes insane behavior with the Cherokee blood. The German and Irish....hmmmm, where's that drunken icon? It's your life, live it! I catch w/ my right and throw w/ my right (I don't play base ball for this reason) Yet, I write with my left! Call me Fu#Ked up if you will
RevJim 0 #38 December 17, 2002 Well, I'm a skydiver, so really, I'm trying to overcome this intelligence with stupidty.....but damn, I think the adreneline stimulates the brain too.... Seriously, how many skydivers do you know, at least ones that stay a safe distance from "dumbing down" drugs, that are not intelligent? OK, a few, but the smart people seem to outweigh the dumb ones, at least around me.....or is that just who I "choose" to hang around???? On that aspect, why do those of higher than normal intelligence seek out ways of possibly ending their lives early? I don't know, but I'm not stopping....It's your life, live it! slotperfect 7 #40 December 17, 2002 I had a Coach in high school that was ambidextrous. Playing baseball, he was a good switch hitter, and could throw well with either hand (stronger on his dominant side). He could shoot a basketball with both, and both of his feet were equally as strong in Soccer. His most amazing feat was writing on the chalk board with both hands at the same time. The only stipulation was that he had to be writing the same thing. His brain was not ambidextrous.Arrive Safely John
slotperfect 7 #41 December 17, 2002 Another one . . . I have a friend and fellow skydiver that was wounded in the shoulder in Vietnam. His right arm was disabled for several months after he had surgery to repair the shoulder. He is right handed, and being the type that hates to have other people do everything for him, he began teaching himself to do everything left handed while in rehab at the VA hospital. He demonstrated to me his result by tying his shoe, one-handed, with his left hand. He is an amazing man in many ways, but that one is one of my favorites.Arrive Safely John

His brain was not ambidextrous. Same here! I can write with both hands at the same time - but it's easier if I write with one hand in mirror image.... (left or right) Yeah, ever since I learned cursive, mirror image seemed natural to me - that way I could see what my left hand was writing. Hours of entertainment watching my elementary teachers freak out when they put a mirror to my notes.

mouth 0 #44 December 17, 2002 I write on the board with both hands equally. My kids HATE it because I can see either side of the room according to which hand I use. I have always used whichever hand got to something first to complete the chore at hand. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
