Get used to it or get over it!

If she had a skydiving friend who didn't resort to that kind of BS and was a little more tactful in encouraging her to stick with it then maybe she would feel more comfortable and continue in the sport.

Im trying to be the best friend that I can possibly be but I dont want to tell her that everything will be alright and go according to the way she sees fit because thats a farce. We are who we are. I have been trying to convince her that over time it will change and that skydiving PERIOD is worth all of the BS. And yet it would still be a descision that she would have to make on her own. As to whether or not she enjoyed jumping Im unsure of her thoughts. She says she enjoys it at times and at others shes really undecided. But thanx for theadvice.

I don't notice women getting harrased at DZ's around my area. Those women that tease the men get equally teased back. I think that some women encourage it. Some don't. Everyone is pretty well behaved and proffesional, very few sexist pigs. And those guys that are dicks usually get regulated by the moral majority. Maybe cause I live in the land of fruits 'n nuts...:P

Hrmm...[:/] This sport could use a few more women. If it was right for them of course.

akaGO : By the way, please don't think that my "skydiving friend" comment was directed specifically towards you. I meant it as a generalisation.

Absolutely.

I think we need a snowball effect. The more women who join, the more women will want to join, and the more women will join etc etc etc.

Actually.....I tend to get a bit more than I like sometimes. It's funny....maybe I'm getting mellow in my old age or something...but every time a "new" chick walks on the DZ there is a never ending stream of "warnings" about Clay this and Clay that. It's all in fun and usually they chill out pretty quick and realize I'm not as bad as the "hype." The annoying thing is....it tends to really HOSE me because it immediately puts them on the defensive!!! :D As long as the attention is the "right" type I'm plenty good with it. B|

Now Clay, I must say that I personally rarely notice you ever even flirting with anyone for that matter even though woody and a few others tend to give you a hard time. I personally dont think your nearly what people say but yes I do notice that when its said that the girls at the DZ do tend to jump on the defensive. Just my two cents worth.

On the other hand, maybe she was just simply shit scared of jumping out of a plane again and used it as an excuse to quit.

I agree. If she was really getting into skydiving, she would turn around and say 'Fuck off - I am here to skydive, now go bother someone else'. (I know this because I hear it quite often..... :()
