hooked 0 #6 December 17, 2002 Quote Up here in Seattle too. Windy and rainy. I think we have seen the last of our sunny days for a while! Now for 2 months of cloudy, dark days! But when it is sunny, it is beautiful, huh? J -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. Michele 1 #7 December 17, 2002 Quote Raining buckets, coming down at a 45 degree angle about 45 degrees fahrenheit Yeah, no kidding. Burbank, too. Usually, as the day progresses, it gets warmer. Not so today. It's really really cold and windy and wet. And it's tied up traffic something awful. No showing houses today... Michele 1 #9 December 17, 2002 Quote Hey, tomorrow they'll be clean, though I actually like showing houses either during or right after a rain storm. That way, you can see if the roof leaks. 'Course, I try to not show fixers when it's pouring out, because they usually require a roof...and in this storm, you'd get drenched in a heartbeat. Which reminds me...I have to go to the store tonight. And I have no galoshes.Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
BikerBabe 0 #10 December 17, 2002 LOL...y'all should have seen it Sunday morning at Eloy. Had a sandstorm blow through around 6:15 am with what had to have been 50 mph gusts. Looked like a tornado hit the DZ. All of the extra packing tents were destroyed (Chris and Ray's was all bent, and Packing Cathy's was just gone) and there was crap all over the DZ. I guess it wasn't too funny, because of the white balloon. You Eloy people know what I mean. Turns out it was on a tether descending from 20,000 ft when this windstorm hit...broke the tether, the balloon floated too high and popped. I heard it was worth around $250,000! My husband said, "guess y'all aren't jumping today". I answered, "nah, it'll blow itself out by dawn". And it did! We had great weather all day!Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
billvon 3,078 #11 December 17, 2002 >Turns out it was on a tether descending from 20,000 ft . . . You can get a spool of line that's 20,000 feet long? Wow. You could use that for AFF students - tie it to em before they take off, then just reel them in under canopy.

When Southern Californians talk about "rain" what they really mean is what most of us call "mist". Of course they close the schools and the highways become a killing field, and all the hills disolve into the canyon roads... 50 degress? I'd have to break out shorts for that! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

skybytch 273 #15 December 17, 2002 Quote When Southern Californians talk about "rain" what they really mean is what most of us call "mist". Well, okay, but this was a heavy mist. A really heavy mist. Being thrown around by strong winds. So heavy the wipers on high couldn't clear the windshield fast enough. 35 mph on the freeway because it was dark and raining (sorry... "misting") hard... well, that was a bit on the too conservative side for me. I coulda handled at least 45.
