WTF?

Recommended Posts

It is now 11:26 pm Mountain time. I'm super sleepy, but I can't step away from the crack (dz.com).

I'm listening to my roommate who is downstairs with her 3 year old that lives with us. They are both still wide awake at 11:30 at night! This isn't a fluke, one time thing. Just about every night the two of them stay up later than I do!

Many, many nights I'll come home to my roommate, her daughter and her drunk friends hanging out late, playing cards and smoking down right in front of the little one. The other night the 3 year old was the card dealer in their drinking game! Everyone but me thought it was really cute and amusing.

I'm not trying to be all high and mighty, I'm just wondering if I'm wrong to think that there's a problem here.

What do you think?

x's and o's,

I try so hard not to pass judgment, it just doesn't make sense to me. Seriously, every night I'll hear the little girl crying from being overtired, yet her mommy doesn't put her to bed?!

I understand giving her the choice to stay up or go to bed, but I think the whole parenting thing has to come in here somewhere.

I'm just looking for what's in the best interest of the little one...since it looks like no one else is.

Oh, I have. It didn't do much good, obviously. I've also spoke to her about other issues that I choose not to discuss.

Every time I bring up something about her daughter, she gets very defensive and pissed. Nothing ever gets "solved".

Don't get me wrong I really don't try to involve myself in other peoples drama, but when little one's are involved it's difficult not to.

Grrr...I'm still frustrated.

Do you live in a trailer park?

How'd you guess? We keep our fridge full of Hamms on the front porch, where it's nice and handy right next to the couch. I spend many a nights out there, in my mullet and acid washed jeans with a comb in my back pocket and a pack of Cowboy killers rolled up in the sleeve of my wifebeater.

For real...I retired to my bed past midnight last night and they were STILL UP, watching The Matrix! I'm very diplomatic in nature, but this situation has me stumped.

Any suggestions on handling this?

REAL SUGGESTION REQUEST:
Call Child Services and move out.
She is NOT your friend and she is NOT a MOTHER to that child.
I don't know about AZ.'s Domestic Law but, ALL states protect children from UNFIT parents.
(serious question: is she also whoring in front of the child? &, Does she only keep her for child support money?)
I'm glad this situation distrubed you enough to metion it to us.
You now need to follow through with the best interest of the CHILD's welfare and NO ONE else's personal interest.
I will pray for you to do what's right.
Thank you for taking the 1st step.
-Grant.

I'll second that. The very least you should do is find a better environment to live in. That chick is TROUBLE and sooner or later just being around her will bite you in the ass. I would distance myself from that entire situation.
