Jessica 0 #1 December 22, 2002 What if someone were having a crappy, dreary day at her job that forces her to work every weekend... And what if she saved up all her money from now until May, then quit her job, and ran off to some dropzone somewhere, and was a total bum and waited tables or worked at Subway or something during the week, then jumped all weekend, then in the fall went and found a real "career" job again? What would be a good dropzone to do that at?Skydiving is for cool people only
narcimund 0 #2 December 22, 2002 Well, as long as you're sticking with the summer months anyway, Oregon weather is fantastic that half the year. Green, lush, warm but rarely hot, and there's enough rain in the winter that the ground is always soft under landing footsies. Skydive Oregon has more comfy facilities but Eugene Skydivers is much kinder to a fixed budget. Also, Eugene Skydivers is near Eugene which is a great place to live for a summer. I know -- I've done it :) First Class Citizen Twice Over
Opie 0 #3 December 22, 2002 Can we see a picture before answering that.......on second thought forget the picture and come on up to SDC for the summer.

Jessica 0 #6 December 22, 2002 I -- er, "she" would probably want to live on the dropzone to save money. She'd also want to work on her ratings -- she's got a start toward her rigger's ticket, and she has a coach rating with hopes of someday going for an AFF.Skydiving is for cool people only

wmw999 2,584 #15 December 23, 2002 I speak from some experience here, having done a similar thing (mphty-mpht) years ago. New England rules. There are several drop zones close to each other, and since the people don't jump as much in the winter, they make up for it in the summer. Also, it's pretty there. I went there in the early fall and stayed until winter, and don't regret a second of it. A packing table with a cheapo or two is not too uncomfortable to sleep on, either. Either way, make it somewhere pretty. Really. It adds to the overall quality of life. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
dex 0 #16 December 23, 2002 Skydive New England or bust. As long as you aren't trapped around here during the winter months....... bah who says it's too cold too skydive.... wimps.... we really do make up for it during the summer ;)

Vallerina 2 #21 December 23, 2002 Hinckley, IL...Chicagoland Skydiving First of all, this female you speak of wouldn't even have to take a crappy job...she could freelance for all the newspapers around here for extra cash! Then, she would do such a good job at it, they'd offer her a full time position for one million dollars. Second of all, they would love to help some hot chick get her ratings and such. Thirdly, I could have someone to carpool with! And lastly, her beer drinking skills would help her fit right in!There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
PLFKING 4 #22 December 23, 2002 Quote What would be a good dropzone to do that at? Raeford. Hot in the summer, still jumpable in the winter, and Nathan can teach you the ins and outs of becoming a DZ bum. And there's probably room in Chuck's MonkeyBago, if you ask him nicely. DivaSkyChick 0 #23 December 23, 2002 I'd go to a really big DZ so you can work / live on the DZ - and hopefully catch a ride on the otters they lend to Rantoul, Lost Prairie, etc. Might as well see the "world" while you're at it! --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch
PhreeZone 20 #24 December 23, 2002 SGC... Jim and Lee would help you out as much as they always do with everyone else, the Casa and the Westwind provide lots of weekend jumps, where as the Westwind and the 206 are nice weekday planes. LouDiamond 1 #25 December 23, 2002 You could always come to Skydive Orange in VA. There is a permanent trailer park set up next to the hanger and always something to do. I think we have just as many females as males jumping there. By far one of the coolest DZs you will find."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
