mujie96 0 #1 December 23, 2002 Anyone want to help a young, green skydiver work on accuracy for her C license? Beer included. I may be more accurate than I think but we don't really have peas or targets set up here, and I usually just put myself in an unoccupied space as free of turbulance as possible. Shark 0 #2 December 23, 2002 Come on out to 'Snore. We got plenty of peas.
riddler 0 #3 December 23, 2002 I just went back through my own log to get the qualifying jumps for my C. It's 20 jumps within 5 meters (about 16 feet) of your intended target. I didn't know if I had enough, but it turned out I had about 50 jumps that were that close to the peas (almost half of my total). If you have more than 100 jumps, you probably have 20 within 15 feet of your intended target - note that I don't think the intended target has to be pea gravel - it can be anywhere you intend to land. It's much better (IMO) to do exactly what you are doing and land somewhere free of traffic - just make sure you record that you did that intentionally. Have you been recording this in your logbook?Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
AggieDave 6 #4 December 23, 2002 Bring a hoola-hoop. We'll set it out on a corner of the secondary landing area, then you can come in and land there for accuracy. They actually have peas in Eloy, but its right in the middle of the swoop lane, errr, I mean the main landing area.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
