It's a miracle breakthrough!!!!!! Somebody just invented an automatic packing machine. It's reliable, packs in 5 minutes and requires no maintenance. But, it costs the same as that new AAD you need and you can only afford one or the other. What do you do?????

I would stick with the Cypres. Why spend all your money on something to make your life easier. What if you HAVE a short life BECAUSE you invested in the packer not the Cypres. What a waste of money huh. And a waste of a good life.

Except for my tandems, I have packed every chute I’ve jumped (8 AFP jumps so far). I don’t mind packing and it gives me a chance to inspect the lines and the canopy (something a machine won’t do). I learn more of what to look for each time I pack it. It puts me more in the loop of being responsible for my own safety. I don’t think I would waste my money on something that I can do easily.

I intend to live forever -- so far, so good.

I prefer to know my good friend cypress is jumping with me, and I actually enjoy packing. Unlike work, I get a sense of completion out of it (most IT projects seem to die or get cancelled before they get completed), and I get a sense of satisfaction out of doing something that saves my own life.

Packing machine. At 145 jumps I'd break even. I did 245 this year and only payed for about 10 of them. I'd make a lot more loads if I'd just load it in the machine, have it packed then jump.

Every hard (SLAM) or off heading opening I've ever had was packed by someone other than me, so I personally pack my own. I had 2 done in Rantoul by Packin' Cathys crew. 2 worst (ouch) openings I've had in over a year.

CYPRES? Let's not make this another one of those threads and just say, um, no thanks.
