sangiro 26 #3 December 24, 2002 Thanks for the photos! They're beautiful. I thought I'd close the day in the same way you opened it. I walked down to the Santa Monica pier at sunset and snapped a few quick ones. End of the day! Safe swoops Sangiro

skygal3 0 #7 December 24, 2002 the contrast between our two little worlds is amazing...me being in the northeast and you being in the west...it was pretty cloudy all day with a few peaks of the sun. This is what remains of our snow and ice..
sangiro 26 #8 December 24, 2002 That looks cold as hell! Got to admit it was a bit chilly here today but I still spent most of the day in a t-shirt and jeans only. I took those pics with a little Canon Digital ELPH (Powershot S110) Safe swoops Sangiro
PLFKING 4 #9 December 24, 2002 I could put up with a lot of cold for a sunset like that. And when I lived up north, I used to go out of my way to find rivers when the ice was breaking up in the spring. I used to watch the ice roll with the current for hours. Sangiro....that's some nice use of shadow and light...I really liked the bench shot. Don
RevJim 0 #10 December 24, 2002 Kate, I live in an area as cold as you, and sometimes quite colder. I hate every minute of it now. It's just cold. At least where you are there is cold and beauty, I just have cold. I would love to move to a warmer clime, but if I had to stay in the cold, where you are is where I would love to be. If it looks that good in the cold, I can imagine the beauty of it all in the summer...... geez, now I'm in envy of a cold place....what's next? It's your life, live it! skygal3 0 #12 December 24, 2002 the summers were absolutely breathtaking. I stood on that dock July4th and watched a spectacular show of fireworks...but there had to be at least 1000 boats in the water in the background, all quiet and dark except for little red and green alert lights. It was stunning. The sunsets were absolutely gorgeous; even better at my dz. I can only imagine what it was like to be on a load, but friends of mine would finish each day with a sunset swoop...edited to say: I agree I am extremely fortunate to live where I do... Gawain 0 #13 December 24, 2002 Great pics! I was just at the pier Friday night, after me and a friend ate dinner at The Stinking Rose in Beverly Hills... The pics make that place look huge, I was surprised how quickly we walked through there. One cool part, played an honest game of Pac-Man at the arcade on the pier... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
