skreamer 1 #28 December 28, 2002 190 miles each way (the time, well that depends.... ) There are DZs much closer, but this DZ gets '14 500 minimum on each load (and they turn 'em quickly) - well worth it!
Luna 0 #29 December 28, 2002 Quote So the next one is 90 minutes, but it's a great club with a great bunch of people... So, when are we going to see you out there again? freeflir29 0 #32 December 28, 2002 From where I live it takes me anywhere from 1 hour to 1 1/2 to drive to any of 4 differen't turbine DZ's. Funny thing is....the mileage to all 4 is drastically differen't. Some just have a lot more freeway involved than others. My home, SD Atlanta, is exactly 91 miles from door to door. Only takes me about 1 hour 15 minutes provided I-75 isn't having traffic problems. 1 hour 30 minutes or so if I have to go the back way to avoid traffic. jkm2500 0 #35 December 29, 2002 21.5 miles to the dz! It only takes about 20 mins to get there. The DZO used to live around the corner from me.The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise. bobsled92 0 #37 December 29, 2002 Well, I'm 22 mins from home to MAYTOWN SPC and less than 15 mins from "work" to DZ (& that's in rush hour) But I have to admit it's no "Eloy". I'm 1hr & 20mins from Skydive Chambersburg and Crosskeys. Right in the middle of the 2 DZs from Maytown, PA. _______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/

I love my "family" at Maytown but, it's nice to jump higher and bigger planes than 182's. My jumping will be split between the 2 and save money for WFFC.-Grant_______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
meridianjumper 0 #43 December 30, 2002 It takes me 3 hours to drive to Skydive AL. They are doing some construction on the way up there and it kinda slows me down. Kinda hard to drive 55 on the Interstate, but with the Highway Patrol hiding their cars behind porta-potty's for the road crew, gotta be careful. -Jeremy Blue Skies, Jeremy
