Another jumper hit the wall of the towers but he spun off and landed safely.

Amateur. If he'd really been balls-out he would have pulled an Oklahoma John Hoover and actually gone through a high-rise window, back out, and landed.;)

Here it is! I ran this pic in my paper, too.

Between you and me, we'll cover every damn skydiving event that we aren't part of, be it good or not so good!!!

Thanks for sharing, Jess!

Skydivers in the media, unite! (or in this case, untie!)

Thanks... He looks ok. Before I go giving him shit, did it say he was uninjured?

I just read this on Blinc. Matts Fine.
----------------------------------------

Matt is well and continues jumping. He just wanted to check and see if that railing could hold a real man's weight!
Peace,

Greetings from KL!

We're all out here having a great time. We've made around 500 jumps in the last three days, with zero injuries and one incident. Matt's fine, though, and he's kept part of the hand rail as a souvenir.

Aside from the demo tomorrow at midnight, we've got two days off now, with two more Petronas days and two KL tower days to follow.

Big fun. Wish you were here.

Skydiver is used since at least the lowest demoninator in the public has an idea of what a skydiver is with out having to read the article to figure it out.

Most BASE jumpers take offense to being called skydivers. In general, "Skydiver" or "Skydiver Attitude" is considered a pejorative term in BASE circles.

I've already adopted the "Parachutist" compromise, at least in my personal speech. I tend to tell people I am in KL for a "Parachuting event". I usually call my activities "parachuting" since it avoids having to give lengthy explanations of what BASE jumping is. People who already know about BASE (a surprisingly large number, actually), generally cue on my words (not calling it skydiving), and ask follow up questions about BASE.

from near the top of the 88-storey

We are actually using an exit platform erected on the 73rd floor balcony.

Altitude to impact is around 900 feet. Altitude to landing is around 970 feet. Typical delays are 4-5.5 seconds. Competition points are deducted for delays less than 4 seconds.
