happythoughts 0 #53 December 31, 2002 Quote I really hate the idea of this, because it riles up my feminist sensibilities. It's designed to make women look like stupid, gold-digging idiots, and that pisses me off. On the other hand, I guess these women are getting what they deserve. I'm just annoyed at the deliberate negative portrayal of a gender. I wouldn't worry about any stereotype. After all... there is only these 12 women who chase guys for money, right? Neevvver happens anywhere else. Hey, I kind of understand it. Rich is fun. When I was 16, girls wanted to go to the beach in a boat, not a car. Always doing fun things. As an adult, the spouse of a rich person does not have an unpleasant job. Your kids get the best educations, clothes, and live in a nice house. That's what I want for my kids. People who are rich are educated (generally). They dress well and you are proud to be with them. People talk about love. Who are you going to fall in love with? Successful, educated, well-mannered person? I've heard a lot of jokes at the expense of the illiterate redneck on this forum, right? Nobody is thinking that poor is a sign of moral and ethical purity, are they?

But even the list above doesn't mean someone rich. I think everyone here would consider Dan BC to be successful, educated and well-mannered (and a good person overall) but he is far from rich. OTOH if you so choose there are any number of rude, ill-mannered people who were born with money and have never had to do anything to make it. >I've heard a lot of jokes at the expense of the illiterate redneck on this >forum, right? And laywer jokes. Don't forget them. >Nobody is thinking that poor is a sign of moral and ethical purity, are they? I think it just means they don't have a lot of money. steve1 5 #55 January 1, 2003 I have tutored children, taught them to swim in my swim business I had for two years, volunteered at the Boys and Girl's Club, etc. but I'm VERY happy to give them back when I'm done. .......................................................................... This reminds me of an old cowboy I used to know. He once was talking about his Grandkids, which he loved a lot. He said, "Yes we pick the little darlings up on Friday, and then we send the little Sons-a-Bitches home on Monday." Steve1
