wmw999 2,589 #1 January 2, 2003 Edit: Boy, I look at this and it's my very own post-whore thread. I'm so proud Nig-noggery was continuing as I left. However, since I'm completely exhausted from all the fun, and since I have to be at work in the morning, back I came. I think I met a thousand dz.commers. Well, maybe not a thousand, but after enough drinking you don't just see double, y'know? Lots of fires were involved in the fun, and huge amounts of desert sand. I think I brought enough home to make my own sandbox. I can assure everyone that we spent all of our time thinking about the poor unfortunate souls who couldn't come -- NOT!!! Actually, it's been a great time, and I can't wait to go to my own little warm bed. Wendy W. wmw999 2,589 #3 January 2, 2003 I always end up developing or uploading pictures about a year after taking them, so I've pretty much quit taking them. But there will be plenty posted. Deuce should have a good selection when he gets back, and I saw a number of other cameras. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. wmw999 2,589 #7 January 2, 2003 0 : 25 : too many to count Kisses all around on New Year's Eve, but that hardly counts. Firsts? 62-way clusterfuck; jump organized by a member of Arizona Airspeed; DZ.com record attempt; time to walk on hot coals (don't try this at home boys and girls); time to watch a Rodriguez brothers initiation; time to hear Mouth yell Whoohoo in the airplane, and probably others I no longer remember. Ah, it's great to have firsts when there's free unlimited beer-like substance (we were down to Bud and Bud Lite by the time I left). sunshine 2 #9 January 2, 2003 You forgot to mention following me into the middle of the desert to chase my freebag. Of all the places to have my first mal..... Thank you so much for following me though. At least the freefall portion of our 2way was fun. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! mddudek 0 #10 January 2, 2003 After 6 years off from the sport, seeing all of the fun everyone was having at Eloy has inspired me to return to the best damn thing I have EVER done. I loved watching you all jump, swoop and even land off (some way off). Thanks. Doo dah
AggieDave 6 #11 January 2, 2003 Quote does that mean new no record? If you count a HUGE freak'n funnel, then, yes. Or maybe a certain person's 300th jump that was a planned HUGE hybrid that funneled not once, but thrice... --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." wmw999 2,589 #12 January 2, 2003 There were lots and lots of funnels. Awesome ones, too. We did have 11 people in a formation, but it was incomplete. Also, one of the 11 was the organizer, and is not a DZ.com-er yet. We determined that belly-flying is not necessarily easier than freeflying, even with coaching from a biggie. The formation was taken out, sometimes spectacularly, just about every time. The video was great. While the awesome hybrid did turn into a funnel, there was another hybrid that was so cool, we tried to improve on it (ergo the funnel).
