jessd 0 #1 January 3, 2003 I am so sick of the snow. It barely snowed at all last year, but, this year it's like every other day. I'm scared to drive in it so, another Friday night ruined due to the weather. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..." jessd 0 #4 January 3, 2003 Thanks for rubbing it in. I should consider moving somewhere that does not get snow. I really love spring and summer - if I could have that year round... I really love spring and summer - if I could have that year round... Ahh but you can! San Clemente, California. Arguably the best climate in the world. Everyone outside of CA thinks of SoCal and smog together...so untrue!! LA maybe...the rest of LA, Orange, San Diego, Riverside counties...simply gorgeous. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Then it would be to hot in the summer. Come on now, you're right by Rhode Island, you don't get that much snow every year. Skygal is further north, and I don't see her complaining....figures though, I move away from New England and it snows every other day.... bummer. jessd 0 #8 January 3, 2003 I should really consider moving. I was out in California in September and drove from San Fran to San Diego - loved every minute of it. jessd 0 #9 January 3, 2003 We usually don't get that much snow. But, this year we've had quite a bit so far and winter has only just begun. I don't even like when we get just an inch or so - makes everything yucky. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..." SpeedRacer 1 #10 January 3, 2003 Actually, I miss Massachusetts in the winter sometimes. At least they get REAL winters there. I live in Maryland now, and during the winter we usually get that in-between shit, freezing rain, ice, etc. I was so happy in December when we got all that nice fluffy snow, especially after the wussy winter last year. I was raised in Riverside Cal but moved in the mid 70's. I remember when the town of Riverside was so excited because we were finally on the map. I get back to visit family at least once a year, and hate all the smog and traffic. Yes, Cal is nice, but I so enjoy the changing seasons. Last October when I was flying into Perris Valley the haze , that's what my mom calls it. Was so thick we couldn't see the DZ till we were right over the runway. Got in trouble cause we flew through the DZ at a lower alt than we would have like.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. AirMail 0 #18 January 4, 2003 QuoteNo 4x4 here. I drive a Celica and it sucks in the snow. You, my cyberfriend, are in luck. I have an almost new, beautiful, Jeep Wrangler for sale. You could be the envy of everyone at your DZ if you came driving up in this fine vehicle. 4WD for those snowy winter times in MA. PM me for details. happythoughts 0 #21 January 4, 2003 Quote Theres about two feet of snow on the ground here right now and it isnt supposed to let up until tomorrow afternoon sometime... I know how you feel.. Good thing for 4x4 pickup trucks! In Florida, I have seen it "snow" three times. Little flurries blow around and melt as they touches the ground. I have seen it thick enough that you could brush all the snow from a car hood and make 2 snowballs. The unbelievable part is that the last time it happened, there were over 200 traffic accidents before 11:00am. The snow melted and froze on the concrete overpasses. Companies were broadcasting radio announcements to employees that they should not come into work. Can you imagine? Snow days for adults.
skygal3 0 #22 January 4, 2003 Quote Skygal is further north, and I don't see her complaining... I get paid to play in the snow and they give me great big 4x4's to drive, so I really can't complain... Jessd-I had a Celica like a bazillion years ago, I thought it was actually pretty good in the snow..then again, all I have ever had were small zippy front wheel drive lil things so I really have nothing to compare it to... I was up to my hips in the snow again this morning..woohoo!
