Ok, Finland is best place for us but how on earth someone else can like this cold and dark place? (Read; 2 months since last jump)

Actually, I loved Finland the summer I visited for the World Games (first year skydiving was on the menu). Of course, that summer was the best (and warmest)one they'd had in years, the locals said! B|

Say 'hi' to my friends at the Utti DZ for me, k? :)

>I think it had something to do with a nurse....

I'll step out on a limb here and suggest it was a DRUNKEN nurse....

I'll go even further out on the limb and say that it WAS a drunken nurse that someone could'nt stop bragging about... even it was only for 3 minutes with her .... :P

Yesterday is history
And tomorrow is a mystery

WTF? Why on earth? Unless you're being sarcastic, of course.:S

Actually, there is a group of Finns in z-hills today. They were doing helicopter jumps. It was a hoot listening to the woman at manifest announcing, "On this load is..." and trying to pronounce the names. :D

They had jackets with "Parachute Club of Finland" on them. There is an AFF instructor who brings 10 to 15 people over with him every winter.

Today we were doing 40-way since 8:30 this morning. Did 5 jumps. Temperature was kind of chilly in the morning, but it was around 74 at 3pm. Had to take of the second t-shirt. Beautiful day, no clouds anywhere.

I know. :( Something like 50-60 people from Finland visit Z-hills this Dec-Jan(not all at the same time though). Lucky bastards.

"Say 'hi' to my friends at the Utti DZ for me"

Dang, that´s my home DZ!!!B|B|:)(I´m writing this at DZ..:S)
To whom shall i say "hi" ??

Looking back to 1997 when I was in Utti, there were two s/l instructors there. Mika Paavolainen and Hessu (don't remember his last name right now). I have one of their boogie posters hanging here in my office. The one from 10-7-1995. They were cool enough to sign it for me! B|

One thing that struck me about your wonderful dz was the fact (at that time) the instructors were paid in jumps, not money...(they got to jump from full altitude after their students left, if they wanted to). They said it was the way they gave back to the sport.

Wonderful country! Great people!

I was talking to one of the Finns. They had put a liner in the trunk and put 300 cans of beer on ice. The weird part was when 3 of them crawled in the trunk for a photo. There was some good head-shaving photos, I am sure.

A lesson I learned long ago, never go drinking with the Finns and think of keeping up. :S
