Scared....(Updated!)

Recommended Posts

Congratulations Daizey! I'm happy you got to avoid the points (those are what cost the most over time!) B|

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I got caught doing 120 in a 70 zone in a S turn in a flippen KCar LOL... didn't see the damn cop cause of a bush I was coming up to, he came around the bush and all I did was say AWE SHIT! Felt like someone ripped my stomach out of my chest!! I never bothered to slam on the brakes cause I got caught for sure!

He stopped me a few miles down the road when he finally caught up to me and because it was my first time (I shouldn't have been laughing at my stupidity at the time - he didn't like it!!) he knocked my ticket to 80 and gave me a few points. I was SO lucky, I could have been walking 80k back home with a suspended license and missed my class exam.

Hope everything goes well for ya Daizey!

the cop won't show up anyway, it's if it needs to go to trial . if she pleads not guilty, the cop is dirty i was fingered would the cop show up.

Accelerate hard to get them looking, then slam on the fronts and rollright beside the car, hanging the back wheel at eye level for a few seconds. Guaranteed reaction- Dave Sonsky

Wow. You guys have it tough. In South Africa, you pay the admission of guilt fine through the post. Nothing goes on your insurance, no record on your drivers licence.

If the speed is excessive - like 120 in a 50 zone - you would need to go to court. The fine could be quite high by our 3rd world standards, like $500, but still no record on your licence or insurance problem.

The only thing that would cause insurance to go up is having an accident that was your fault. Traffic fines are a revenue gathering operation. Nothing more. We have one of the highest road death tolls in the world - although about 60% of it is pedestrian, and alcohol is involved in over 70% of fatal accidents. DUI is against the law, but only really enforced over Christmas and maybe easter. It's still considered "cool" by many drivers, particularly the younger ones.

So. We pay less, but we die more. But statistically, that makes skydiving really safe here!

and they don't even really enforce it that well. I've got speeding fines in the post that I haven't paid for, usually because I don't have a cheque book and I dont have time to drive all the way to the area where the infringement took place. So I wait for the 3rd set of summons, pop into my nearest police station and pay there, but that's usually months and months later.
The last ticket I got was well over a year ago and I still haven't paid it, and have heard nothing more .....
