QuickDraw 0 #1 January 9, 2003 Just Flicking around and came up with this site. I did a quick search just to make sure no-one had put it up in a while (or at all ?). You have to check out the HoMeBoY NyTe SyTeS. Every mofo on the block will want some. http://www.birdman.org/products/homeboy1.htm -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning

AggieDave 6 #3 January 9, 2003 You know whats funny? I'm a very very good shot, have spent many hours at ranges and have shot well over 10,000 rds in the past 18 months. Anyways, I was screwing off at the range one day and spent about an hour playing with shooting my weapon with it held sideways, "Gansta" style. A myth is that it assorbs the recoil better. HA! Lets just say I barely hit shit (it all hit the target, but only about 1/2 of my shots hit the 10 ring). Eitherway, that's pretty damn funny.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
PhillyKev 0 #4 January 9, 2003 On one episode of the Sopranos, Christopher hired some guys to help with a truck hijacking and kept yelling at them for holding the gun that way. Pretty funny.
billvon 3,154 #5 January 9, 2003 Betcha they'd be popular if they ever actually sold. >A myth is that it assorbs the recoil better. HA! Lets just say I barely hit > shit (it all hit the target, but only about 1/2 of my shots hit the 10 > ring). Like any of that _matters_? Try telling the owner of a jacked-up SUV that his vehicle is inefficient, dangerous and wastes oil. He'll come up with six reasons that it's really safe and it doesn't matter if it wastes oil. Which of course isn't the point - he wants a big truck and therfore he buys one. If you could buy such sights, people will get them cause they're cool, even if they don't work. Actual functionality comes in a distant second to how cool someone thinks something is, when it comes to how they sell.
AggieDave 6 #6 January 9, 2003 Bill, you know I actually use the 4-wheel drive and the big knobby tires on my truck, right? With that said, I also wanted a big-truck... --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
dterrick 0 #7 January 9, 2003 QuoteBill, you know I actually use the 4-wheel drive and the big knobby tires on my truck, right? ...and what do you drive on the smooth flat pavement every day? Actually, we ALL waste a bunch of oil (well, Jet-A or 100 LL depending on DZ) Dave Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)
billvon 3,154 #8 January 9, 2003 >Actually, we ALL waste a bunch of oil (well, Jet-A or 100 LL depending >on DZ) I remember Bryan Burke coming up with the number 6 lbs of fuel per jumper per load, or about a gallon of JP-4 per person per load. On a really good day I can make 8 jumps. I know people who use more fuel than that just _driving_ to the DZ.
wmw999 2,629 #9 January 9, 2003 Bill, not even you can convince everyone (tree-hugging me included) that skydiving is environmentally sound. Better than auto-racing, 4-wheeling up and down mountain trails -- definitely. But in terms of "need" vs. "want" it's probably more on the "want" side Of course, I don't HAVE to drive an Otter every day just because it's the only vehicle I have, either... Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. billvon 3,154 #10 January 9, 2003 >Bill, not even you can convince everyone (tree-hugging me included) > that skydiving is environmentally sound. Are you kidding? It's awful. It's second only to sports like snowmobiling and motorcycle racing to sheer pollution (turbines are not very clean) and it uses a lot of fuel. I've probably used 4000 gallons of fuel over my skydiving career of all types (avgas, JP4, car gas.)
