pds 0 #1 January 10, 2003 fuck me. i guess it was bound to happen. nothing broken, no bleeding in the ankle. just enough pain to keep me off of it and a pocket full of jump tickets to taunt me until next weekend. theoretical knowledge recently reinforced with practical experience: really old ZP holds air a bit different than newer ZP. especially on flare. someone just turned my beer light on. oh wait, that was me.namaste, motherfucker. Zenister 0 #3 January 10, 2003 ouch, that sucks dude.. seriously though when you get back up see if you can find a willing soul to film your landings and give you some advice. I'm sure there are a few around that would be happy to do it for a beer or two.. heal well..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. hookitt 1 #4 January 10, 2003 Quote really old ZP holds air a bit different than newer ZP. especially on flare. . Actually thats not really True... Sorry you bummed up your ankle though. ZP performs almost exctly the same new as it does used. (untill it blows up) I would like to get John Le Blanc's opinion on that one. ZP is basically and almost entirely ZP throughout its lifespan. I'll be happy to put my 3000 jump stiletto on a porosity checker and bring you the results. I have access to one owned by the pararescue team near me. I'll do that the next time I visit. Get well man. Resist the urge to walk on it :) TimMy grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

mujie96 0 #8 January 10, 2003 I've had two less than pretty landings on the old ZP in question in the last two days. I got spoiled on demo gear and now I see what you meant about my Sabre's flare...or lack thereof....I think the brake lines need adjusting...either way HAWAII IS BUMPY. (And I might point out that it is a pretty damn big canopy) Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
Zenister 0 #9 January 10, 2003 heya Jess werent you jumping Sabre2's in Eloy? ive noticed big differences in the way they fly and flare from the original sabres..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. mujie96 0 #10 January 10, 2003 Yes I was and YES THERE IS a huge difference. I like the Sabre2 much better, I'm going to try and get a demo from PD in the size I want but in the meantime I jumped my old 150 all week and I should be on another slightly smaller original Sabre this weekend and while I finish shopping. I also jumped a Spectre a bunch of times which could explain why I have apparently (temporarily?) lost the ability to land the 150 and make it look pretty. Of course, it could also have something to do with the south winds coming over the mountains-its like flying through white water. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming.... Jess lol come to Eloy during the summer.. thermals and dust devils give us that effect too.. ive had been working on my downsizing ( 15 jumps on a 170 and 3 on a 150 both sabre2s) before the Xmas boogie..going back to my 190 sabre was a BIG shock..one that almost hurt me when i got to aggressive with it last sunday...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. pds 0 #12 January 11, 2003 update. advil, cold press and an hour put me back on the ankle. figured out where the flare was and landed feather soft two more times yesterday. woke up a little stiff this morning and a bit sore but ok. i _am_ looking forward to going back to a 150, though. that sentence is wierd. am back in the air today and it looks like #200 is coming tomorrow. not quite sure how to top nekkid rodeo. Any ideas? so, one more week of careful landings and then this old 135 with 3000+ jumps goes into the fire. thanks for all the support and positive criticism, you know who you are and you know who i am. love ya. the otters are calling.namaste, motherfucker. pds 0 #14 January 13, 2003 Quoteouch, that sucks dude.. seriously though when you get back up see if you can find a willing soul to film your landings and give you some advice. I'm sure there are a few around that would be happy to do it for a beer or two.. heal well.. no video, but got some old hands to critique. seems that my timing is good and flare is smooth but the old 135 just has nothing left. was told that at max flare it was still almost in front of me. so either i need to wrap the brakes a few times next time or there actually is something to the idea that ZP can lose something with age.namaste, motherfucker. ramon 0 #15 January 13, 2003 hyper extended my elbow (well some else did it for me while training brazilian jiujitsu). man, took like 3 years for it to feel normal again. I feel your pain. Definitely try and do some sort of physical therapy and stretching/strengthening if you can. Good luck "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
